Dragon Fruit

Hello everyone!

I am here again to participate in the contest organized by @enamul17 and this week the contest is about drawing a dragon fruit. So without wasting time I am starting,

✅ Draw creatively and share your skills with us.

Step-1 🔻

First I drew half of a dragon fruit with a pencil. I drew half of the dragon fruit with the peel to show both the inside and the outside of the dragon fruit.

Step-2 🔻

Then I draw a full dragon fruit to the left of the half dragon fruit drawing. The groove part is drawn on the peel of the fruit.

Step-3 🔻

In this step I start to colouring . First I started coloring my drawn half dragon fruit. Since today I am going to draw a pink dragon fruit, I will first paint the inside of the fruit with pink color. We all know that dragon fruit has green thorn-like extra parts. I also paint them green. Finally, draw the black cumin-like seeds inside the fruit.

Step-4🔻

Then I started to color in the extra thorn-like green parts of the dragon fruit peel. Here I use my favorite colors.

Step-5 🔻

Now I use pink color in my dragon fruit. Since I am using oil pastels here, I rub the colors in with my fingers to blend the colour . Then I complete the art again with green colour. Here I have used pink, yellow green and green colors.

Last Step 🔻

Finally I drew the background. Without background my art was incomplete. As per the rules I wrote my user id and date on that paper.

✅ Discribe about the fruit.

Dragon fruit is not a native fruit of our country Bangladesh. It is originally a fruit of America. This fruit was brought to Bangladesh for the first time around 2007. Ripe dragon fruit is very soft. Dragon fruit is covered with a peel. The peel of the dragon fruit is ridged or thorny like. But here inside there are very soft and small seeds like black cumin. Dragon fruit comes in different colors such as red dragon fruit, yellow dragon fruit, pink dragon fruit and white dragon fruit.

✅ Have you eaten this fruit before? In your opinion, when is the right time to eat this fruit that is beneficial to our health?

Yes, dragon fruit is one of my favorite fruits. I have eaten this fruit many times before. I ate the dragon fruit. Have eaten a variety of foods made with dragon fruit and have already shared a few of recipes made with dragon fruit on this platform. Like dragon fruit pancakes, dragon fruit smoothies, etc.
Dragon fruit is a very nutritious fruit so we should eat it. But the times when I think we should definitely eat this fruit are:

• During pregnancy: This fruit should be eaten during pregnancy because of its nutritional value.
• Diabetic patients: This fruit is very beneficial for diabetic patients.
• This fruit is beneficial for the skin as it contains a lot of vitamin C.

✅Do you buy this fruit from the market or have your own fruit trees? How much is it worth in your area ?

No, I don't have any trees of this fruit. I buy this fruit from the market. In fact I buy 15-20kg at a time from a dragon breeder. I bring the fruit by courier from a village in Jessore district of Bangladesh. The market price of this fruit varies over time. It is sold at 300 to 350 taka or 15-20 steem per kg in the local market. I buy it at 250 taka per kg as I get it directly from the farmer.

✅ How was your reaction after eating this fruit? What is your opinion about its taste?

The first time I tasted the fruit I liked it. The first dragon fruit I ate was brought by my brother from Vietnam. Later I bought it from the country but the dragon fruit from Vietnam was more delicious.
I like the taste of this fruit. I especially like to eat the small seeds like black cumin inside the fruit. If I were asked to number this fruit out of 10 I would give it a 9.5.

✅ Would you like to plant this fruit tree at home or suggest us to plant it? Why?

Yes, it is possible to grow this fruit tree yourself. Already, many people in our country have started cultivating this fruit tree in their abandoned land. Many have profited greatly by cultivating it commercially. The soil of our country is suitable for the cultivation of this dragon fruit. This plant does not require much care to grow so you can plant this plant in tubs on your roof garden. A slightly larger tub or drum is better.
