My Strip Club Experience as a costume designer #2 - The Millennial stripper " vs" Pam Anderson - PDXgal

in #photography6 years ago (edited)

In todays blog we will take a look at millenial strippers. What we think their like and how they really are.

FACTS: Stripping is not the taboo thing it once was. Nobody really cares any more, except for a few hard core "Baby Boomer". Truth is, Its only dirty, if you make it dirty.

Sooo, loosen up! Get your freak on and go tip a stripper. She'll appreciate it and you'll have fun! Oh...and ladies, this means you too!

Millenial women are a whole new bread of female. There feminist by nature. They didn't need there parents to tell them what the world was like. They knew more about life, their body and what could be done with it early on in life.

Like I mentioned in my last post, My Strip Club Experience as a costume designer - A look inside the Strip Club Capital of the USA - PDXgal, I have been designing outfits for strippers for two decades and it's vastly different now.

Back in the 90s there was a beautiful Canadian woman named "Pam Anderson". She was discovered at a Lions game and shortly after signed a contract with Labatts beer to be the "Blue zone girl". This launched into a Playboy cover and the rest is history. Pam's influence on the strip world can still be seen today, but with a new twist, like butt jobs!

Pam showed the world how to rock fake eyelashes and clear heels. She also influences the cosmetic surgery world. Before her, women were getting boob jobs, but after her, the difference was, they ask for her boobs!

Back then strip clubs had a real Vegas vibe, even if they weren't in Los Vegas. Dancers spent BANK on their outfits. Their hair and nails were always perfect. They were polished and ready to land a whale. The men that worked at the clubs wore expensive suits and everything was very professional and private. It all evolved around expensive dances, The Champlain room and high end customers "Whales".

The music was almost always Hip-Hop and Rap. Day shift would play more rock, but at night it was usually what ever the top ten was at that time.

TODAY it's a different world. Sex is just sex. It's natural, everyone does it, a lot! So, expressing yourself in a sexual way also comes naturally. Millenial women really know how to do this and they are unique and creative about it. Their not trying to look like each other. They appreciate the differences in each other and celebrate the unique beauty's that they are.

Stripper clothes and Rave clothes are so simular, you really can't tell them apart any more. In the last five years I have notices women buying my costumes to wear them to parties, clubs, festivals, weddings, pool parties and the beach. Expressing yourself anywhere is becoming the norm or maybe thats just my perspective. I do live in the "Keep it weird" City of Portland.

The Mellenial Stripper is confident and seems to be really in touch with her sexuality. Here is a story to prove it!

Last week I was at a club in Portland where I watched a dancer stand in front of a guy who was seated at her stage. The stage is set just high enough that her butt is eye level to his face.
She was standing right in front of him and she said "
Guess what's in my butt?" That got everyone's attention in ear shot of her! She then turned around and grabbed her ankles and said "Say cheese" as a bright light shined and sparkled from her ass!
The man sitting there flinch and drew his hands up to try and block the camera. The dancer laught and with out moving from her possion, she said "it's not a camer silly!" It was a butt plug with LED lights in the part that poked out.

My summery: Millenial Strippers are awesome! They come in all sizes, their hair comes in every color in the rainbow and they know how to have fun! As for the music, its all over the place, as it should be. The Champaign rooms are not the focus in Portland. There are so many choices. Most places are laid back and casual and the girl tell me they actually make more money when they don't doll up to much. They say it's intimidating for the guys. They like a gal that's a little more approachable. Hmmm...
