Vertcoin (VTC) breaks $3.00
Vertcoin has been on a tear the last few days despite many alts going into the "red." Currently sitting at $3.04 according to http://coincap.io/. VTC has been dubbed as "the people's coin." There was no pre-mine during the initial stages, so it prevented a centralized control over the coin. It will have a finite amount of 84 million that will be mined into existence similar to Litecoin (LTC). It is meant to be a proof of work coin that allows individuals to mine with individual GPUs rather than ASIC miners. The block-time is 2.5 minutes with blocks rewards of 50 coins. However, there will be a halving in the near future that will drop the reward to 25 coins. VTC also has one-click mining (beta) that is fairly easy to set up. On a Nvidia 1070 card you can make about $1 USD worth of VTC per day. Some are comparing it to LTC before LTC had it's big run up. What do you think? Is it still a good time to get into VTC, or has it run up too fast the last few days? Will it go past $3.50 before having a retracement.? Will it break $10 in 2018? Please share your thoughts. I wouldn't say it's better than LTC, but it's similar. LTC uses ASIC for mining, whereas VTC uses GPUs. This means you don't have to go out and buy really expensive hardware to mine VTC and it's geared more towards individuals mining. Plus LTC had a big rise this year. Less than a year ago, LTC was sitting at $3.00 and had a massive run up. Currently, VTC is sitting around $3.00. This could look more attractive to small investors. VTC moved out of Slack and into Discord. Good community over there worth checking out for more info. Good luck!

Yes, this coin has been around for a few years now, and just recently did they get the attention they deserve. Sometimes that all it takes. Now it's on the radar.
