Bush Flying
Good day Steemit Community
This will be my first post to this forum. During the period between 2002 and 2006, I used to be a bush pilot. I used to fly for Federal Air, situated at OR Tambo Airport, Johannesburg, South Africa.
Our scheduled routes were mainly into the lowveld area of South Africa. The main business, was to shuttle passengers, who were mainly tourists from the US and Europe, to the exclusive lodges of the Sabi Sands Game reserve. The reserve is about 6 hours drive, due west from Johannesburg. The approximate flying time was about 50 minutes.
Although we were mainly flying into this area, there were also the odd charter into Africa. These type of flights were mostly into southern and eastern Africa.
I am posting a few pictures from back then. I trust that you will enjoy each and everyone of them.

A charter from Bushmans kloof, Western Cape, to the Limpopo Valley in Zimbabwe. En-route we had to dodge some rather big cumulonimbus cloud, as can be seen on the aircraft's weather radar, as well as through the windows!!
