My First Look at Palnet
Wow it's like I just went back in time, it looks how I remember Steemit to be. Clean and add free. I like the look and I like the feel. And I got my free airdrop of Palcoin, which I staked straight away.
I'm going to be frankly honest, surprise surprise as I am known for my straight talking, or so I am told 😊. I don’t know much about steemengine, I don’t know anything about scott. My general knowledge on what's going on with steem is nill right now, and so knowing anything about Palnet well that’s out the window too.
But with all the hype, sure I had to come to check it out and I love the look and feel. I was a fan of Steemit.com and a die-hard fan that hardly ever used alternative front ends. But then came the ads and well steemit.com didn’t look so nice anymore. I'm delighted to see the same look and feel. Feels like home again.
From what I have read, when posting on Palnet, you can be rewarded in both Palcoin and STUs. Do I need to vote on both steem and pal then? I wonder what my vote is worth in Palcoin???? Is the reward curve the same? And what about curation reward. I have to read more because there is ‘Staking’, which is a term I am familiar with when it comes to master nodes. I assume it means the same as Powering up, but using a more generic crypto word. So when I stake, how long is the power down?

The Only Palnet tip I can give you right now is to stake the palcoins you have. Happy palnetting....

Votes are linked ... so to speak ... vote on palnet is vote on steem and in the other direction as well....the reward curve is a not the same and the author reward ratio is 50/50 :)
Glad to see you posting here as well. I also claimed my 700 pal and powered up that right away. I will see how fast I will be able to grow here. Still learning about everything here. My first post didn't do well. But I think in the future this platform will do well. Let's see what will happen.

There are a few quirks to the system, you get one free downvote, or so I read, but the down vote is not free on the steem side yet so you still lose some steem vote power when you down vote. For the smaller accounts the nice thing is the vote slider is right away and a simple slider like on steemit. The 50/50 split is something I am still looking at and thinking about, primarily using my ALT account for now on PALnet. But with two different payout coins the 50/50 may not be so bad. Just have to see how it all washes out.
A vote on PALnet automatically means a vote on Steem as well. If you upvote a post on Steem that is tagged with palnet it will also 'reward' on palnet automatically, even if you didn't do the voting 'there'. It's all interlinked. Some like that, some don't :-) It's interesting at least, because the distribution is different, so your biggest value vote on PAL might be a 0.01 vote on Steem :D
I think they did a great job in planning this out and then with the launch of it. From my end everything looks like it went smoothly which is nice when that happens. Plus earning rewards in both palcoin and steem you seriously can't go wrong!

Interesting times, but I can see my comments there today so had to revert to steemit :-)
Glad to see the development and growth of steemit projects just like pal and I believe there will be more to come. I guess people upvote is not really worth that much for now on palnet.io but as time goes on
