Sndbox Summer Camp: Writing QUEST Task Two: Real Life Story!

in #sndboxquest6 years ago (edited)

Friends, in this pleasant and pleasing opportunity I will present a moving, beautiful and exemplary story, I am sure you readers will perceive it that way. It is inspired by real events, not my case, nor my experience, but the experience of people very close to me.

This is a story of a widowed father who has fought unceasingly for his children, his life. It all began on April 6, 1962, when a very proud mother delighted in the most beautiful sky blue eyes she had ever seen, in her newborn baby, captivated by his perfect creation, she decided to name him after her father, Daniel.
His childhood was spent in a peculiar way, his parents were humble in heart and materially speaking, for not having many economic resources were forced to devote themselves to agriculture, planting and harvesting of items such as: corn, different types of tubers, sugar cane, orange, lemon, melon, sideburn, among others. Logically, the child in question, together with his father and five other older siblings, gave their body and soul to work and till the land in order to be able to make ends meet.
This boy was very cheerful and witty, he made his toys with any piece he could find, he never had a car, a doll, or a toy item, everything was handmade, but he still had as much fun as any other millionaire kid who had everything he wanted.
He woke up very early to accompany his father to work in the fields, but at the same time he studied, the afternoon shift was exclusively for school, which was very far away, considering that his means of transport was only his feet, his journey was long, so long, that he spent a little more than half an hour walking to reach his destination.
One day, with the oil revolution, his father managed to find a stable job in a prestigious company in the country, this was the best thing that could happen to him. They began to have some financial stability but did not give up their passion for their free time, agriculture.
At a young age he knew what it was like to work, to strive, to work and to work so that he could have a roof over his head, clothes, shoes and most importantly, shoes. Little by little, his father, with great effort, acquired machinery that simplified his work in the fields. By the time he was ten years old, the little boy was already handling this type of machine, it was amazing.
He made a lot of friends during his time at the school, creating bonds that he has even kept all his life. He was an almost normal teenager, I say almost, because he was one of the few who collaborated with his father to emerge economically, yet he also enjoyed meetings with his friends, patron saint parties and any other type of recreation.
Baseball caught his attention a lot, when it was game season he tried to get home early to watch and enjoy them. He was a fan of a team called Navegantes del Magallanes, and he had hats, T-shirts and banners alluding to them. For him it was and will continue to be the best baseball team in the world.
The young fanatic, when he was in high school, met his future wife, Azucena, who happened to be a farmer, too; the girl was four years younger than him. Regardless, he risked loving her and respecting her age, her relationship was healthy and honest.
As time passed, the young man enrolled in one of the best public universities in his home state, making a foray into the career of Agricultural Engineering. At that time, the boy had his own car (a product of hard work in the countryside), which helped him a lot because the university was in the city, while he and his family stayed in a village forty minutes away by car. His time in college was very brief, only six months.
His older brothers, who were studying at universities outside the state, left the subject of agriculture in the background. For this reason, because he was the only one who accompanied his father, he decided to abandon his university studies and once again devote himself to the work of sowing different crops.
He expressed to his father that his passion was not focused on a college degree, but on every seed he sowed, every fruit he harvested and the pride he took in what he produced.
The character of this young man, due to his life experience, was strengthened every day more and more, being something impressive and still conserves it today.
The time came to consolidate the love he felt for his conquest, they took the big step on August 8, 1987, although it was only for civilian, the celebration was held in style, the family of both attended the reception and enjoyed themselves enormously with them. In a few months, the new lady was left in a state and in January 1989 her first child blossomed, a man who came into the world to fill them with joy. His big eyes were black, his skin was cinnamon, his hair dark and Daniel by name just like his father.
The proud new father continued to work hard to support his little family. Under so much effort he managed to acquire a house very close to his parents', right next door. Well, yes, it seems he didn't want to leave his parents.
After a year, the newlyweds remembered again what it felt like to bring a new baby into the world, this time the beloved wife gave birth to a girl, whom they named Flora. Her eyes are big and green like grass in spring, her skin is white and her hair is beautiful golden.
Growing up more and more, the parents dedicated their lives to them, the mother dedicated herself to the household chores that under my perspective is one of the hardest jobs. Keeping an eye on everything in the house and taking care of the children at the same time is a difficult and exhausting task.
For the third time, a new fruit of their love, a charming little girl born in 1994, is presented to them. With dark, large eyes, cinnamon skin and abundant black hair named Algeria.
Under much effort, they managed to enroll their offspring in private schools, providing them with better education and more security, according to their approach. The father made sure to provide his children with what they never had in their childhood and although at times the situation was a little harsh they were never short of food, clothing, shoes and education.
The young mother decided to train as a professional at a public university in the state where she attended classes on weekends. During the 8th semester, in 2002, she was presented with a job opportunity as a substitute, without hesitation she accepted this offer, being this her first work experience which lasted 2 years. In this position, he completed his university studies in 2004.
Grateful to her mother-in-law, brothers and husband, who supported her and helped her at all times with the care of the children, she decided to dedicate her achievement to the children and let him understand that in that speech she gave on the day of her graduation. Daniel, her husband, was so happy with these words that it was touching to see her tears roll down his face.
As time passed, Daniel's beloved wife had health problems, relapsing from time to time, but every time she was successful she was filled with strength and gallantry to care for her family, which in some way or another depended on her. It wasn't long before the environment became so sad for them because they were going to have the painful reality of living without it.
The irreparable loss that Daniel went through with his children cannot be recovered so easily. It is a pain that only they could imagine and feel. After a long time of healing, the affected father had to keep on fighting for them and little by little restarted his work routine which unconsciously acted as his medicine.
He works hard, hard, all year round, no matter if it was heat wave or winter. Her progenitor became the most key member of her family; she was the surrogate mother of her children. Dedicated servants, these children did not lack love, but they did lack the presence of their deceased mother and their father who worked tirelessly.
The struggling father again faced the torment of losing a loved one, suddenly his father in a work accident, lost his life, which forced him to move with his children permanently to his mother's home. He was completely immersed in sadness because he was going through such a hard and difficult situation for him.
Without having the head to face everything that was happening to her, she did not realize the harm she was doing to her mother, to see her son so distressed and her children suffering the consequences of so many events together.
One day he told himself that he no longer had to go forward for the future of those he was now in charge of. He went back to his work, bringing so much more love to him than he used to, he liked to do it so much that again it served as a therapy to forget the pain.
Daniel Jr., Azucena and Algeria were already a couple of young men and a girl, on their way to good. They helped their father and grandmother with household chores, shopping and had very good grades in their studies.
The eldest son was in a public university of the state, developing the career of Petroleum Engineering. What euphoria and pleasure the father had when he saw that his firstborn son graduated with great effort and at the same time he felt a little sadness thinking that this achievement could have been shared with his beloved wife who always had it in her thoughts.
Later, after one year, her second daughter, Azucena, finished her higher education at the same university where her older brother entered and pursued the same career. A new satisfaction for the great father.
A great burden had been lifted from his shoulders, as he had encouraged his children to become professionals and to have a decent and well-paid job. Although he did not consider himself an example to his children, they thought the opposite, despite not having a university degree his work was worth the same or perhaps more than that of any professional in the world. Their relentless struggle was what gave them shelter, food, clothing and shoes for many years. Today, Daniel is waiting for his youngest daughter, Algeria, to give him the good news that she is already a university professional.
In his veins he has this eagerness to work constantly, although his older children offer him all the comforts in gratitude for everything he fought for them, he does not stop doing his job.
Although his body is not the same as before and it is already evident in his head that many years have passed that he is still struggling and affirms that until the last day of his life he will be working, not out of necessity but out of habit and feeling good about himself.
His daughter Azucena has given him the opportunity to become a grandfather for the first time and in honor of him she is named Daniel. He is a very perceptive child and brings great joy to the family.
With this story I would like us to reflect a little, the material does not bring you happiness, it is found in such noble moments and in very simple things; submerging and clinging to sadness leads nowhere, you and those around you suffer; all decent work is important for the development of society; hard work always pays off; we can turn to the family when we need it most; and lastly, despite the obstacles in life, we must hold our heads high and fight to the end.
