TRANSLATED FROM THE WEEKLY BRIEFING OF BASURIN E.A. - THE DEPUTY COMMANDER OF THE ARMED FORCES OF THE DONETSK PEOPLE'S REPUBLIC
02 FEBRUARY 2018

"Mobilization gatherings of the reservists were held in the Republic.The liable for the military service citizens came to the military offices, where they were divided in accordance with their reserve units. During the week the citizens renew their qualification skills, checked the equipment, and then proceeded to tactical exercises and working out coherence in the divisions. Tank, artillery units and air defense units had classes with a use of a military equipment and were training combat firing. All the classes were conducted by the officers of the AF of the DPR who had combat experience, and showed the best results in training. I especially want to notice that among the citizens who have become military reservists and have passed the training, about half were veterans of the militia of the DPR who already have experience of fighting and have become the backbone for new reserve units.

Over the past day, ten violations of the ceasefire regime were recorded from the positions of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
The past week the enemy violated the cease-fire regime FIFTY-THREE times and released ONE HUNDRED FORTY TWO mines with 120 and 82 mm calibers across the territory of the DPR.
The areas of the FIFTEEN settlements of the Republic were affected by the AFU firing.
Four houses were destroyed as a result of shelling by the AFU

The command of the AFU continues to concentrate heavy weapons near the demarcation line.

122 mm SAU "Gvozdika" - 10 units;

100 mm of anti-tank guns "RAPIRA" - 12 units;

T-64 tank - 20 units.

Our intelligence continues to record the build-up of a grouping of forces in the area of the so-called ATO, measures are being taken to replenish material and technical means, increase the ammunition of the AFU units located near the contact line, and also to create a fuel reserve.

The arrival of 1st and 3rd tank battalions and also the rear units of 17th separate tank brigade were detected near the settlement ZATISHNOE (41 km north-west of Mariupol).

The military and political leadership of Ukraine continues to implement the plan of the genocide of its own people.
This is evidenced by the build-up of a grouping of forces in the ATO zone and the conduct of gatherings with reservists. The joint exercises of the Armed Forces together with the Security Service, the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the State Emergency Service with the purpose of working out a set of measures in case of intensification of hostilities in the ATO zone are conducting.

Yesterday Ukrainian terrorists shelled the building of the Ministry of Defense of the DPR. This provocative action is an attempt to intimidate civilians, show panic and fear, as well as an attempt to physically kill the representatives of the command of the Armed Forces.

In the Republic, additional security measures have been taken, people involved in this action will be detained in the near future.

We appeal to the citizens of the DPR - your vigilance guarantees security for you and the Republic.

The past week was characterized by a series of crimes of AFU against the peaceful population of the Republic. The Ukrainian military command chose the life support facilities of the Republic as the main target for the defeat. As in the case of the firing of a bus in the area of the settlement Elenovka on January 21, and in the case of fiiring of residential quarters in Dokuchaevsk On January 22 and 30, OSCE officials confirmed that the firing was conducted by Ukrainian positions. Thus, the command of the 93rd separate mechanized brigade in particular and the military and political leadership as a whole will no longer be able to remove the blame for what they did and all those involved in these and other crimes against the inhabitants of Donbass, will have to respond in accordance with all international laws on war crimes.

We note that if in the previous days the enemy made regular provocative bombardments in the Mariupol direction, at present violations of the cease-fire regime are taking place in the Donetsk direction. The command of 57th separate motorized brigade and 25th separate airborne brigade in practice embody the adoption of the Law "On Reintegration", and in reality - the occupation of Donbass.

And all these crimes are committed against the background of the statement of US special representative Kurt Walker, that there is no civil war in the Donbass.

An alleged truce by the AFU came because the commander of the AFU, M. Zabrodsky, received a severe reprimand from the head of the General Staff V. Muzhenko, for gross violation of the Minsk agreement on the prohibition of shelling.

Zabrodsky can not bring everything in order because nationalist units and even paratroopers do not care about the commander of ATO and AFU as a whole, and continue the excesses and fire on the territory of our Republic.

Cases of violation of fire safety requirements are continuing in the units in the ATO zone.
On January 22 in the territory of the stronghold of 1 battalion of 25 separate airborne brigade in the area of AVDEEVKA, in the dugout, as a result of a fire that caused detonation of ammunition, one soldier was killed, and the weapons and property of the unit were also destroyed.

As a result of the fire in the dugout of the 30 brigade, four soldiers were burned.
In this regard, the ATO command made a decision to conduct sudden inspections of units located in the ATO zone.

In conclusion, I would like to assure the inhabitants of our Republic that we are ready to give a worthy rebuff to the aggressor(Ukraine)."
