Love that picture! Really gets point across too!

Thanks very much for doing a great job to curtail some of these problems!

You guys are the Batmen and Batwomen of Steemit. Thanks for this great work @patrice and the @steemcleaners group!

@patrice thanks for the help earlier. It's much appreciated!

wow..there's discord channell!!

Some people don't realize they are not anonymous. There is no such thing as 100% anonymity anywhere on the internet. Sure they may sit behind a screen but all that shit means is that they're not immediately reachable for a good ol punch in the face. Remaining professional and civil online and here on Steemit benefits all parties, and ensuring that is done is crucial to the growth of the investment that everyone made in the platform. Glad you linked this post off the chat, resteeming as well.

I agree with all the post says and with @guiltyparties said as well. Steem On and Be Excellent to one another!!!

@patrice you are doing an awesome job helping to control the spam and abuse that takes place on Steemit, and I commend you for your efforts!!!

Thanks for what you are doing!!!

Thanks! I appreciate the support! I'm really hoping to get more organized this week and with the support of volunteers get the major abuse identified and start deterring it so I can spend time enjoying the community.

thanks you for making this post. i just made a post in reply to a user who singled out a whole country (nigeria) in his post as being the spammers on steemit and when i pointed out in a comment to him that its borderline rascism and rude to single out any particular country in that manner as he doesn't have any proofs to his allegations, he arrogantly repeated it. do you think this is grievious enough to report him to steemcleaners? attitudes like this must be nipped in the bud.

Unfortunately not a lot @steemcleaners can do about it if they are not making threats toward specific individuals or harassing them.

The truth is that there are regions in the world that are responsible for a lot of the spam. As annoying as it is the majority isn't done with the intent to spam as we see it. There isn't a guide when you sign up that says don't spam, don't beg for votes & don't commit other types of abuse that isn't appreciated by the community.

I try to acknowledge that there are a large number of users that spam in many different regions. The goal isn't to attack these users for spamming. It is to change how they see steemit. The @minnowsupport project has been working hard to do this.

Sometimes you can't reason with someone that is making the accusations. There's a lot of attitudes I'd like nipped in the bud. But I can see myself flagged to oblivion if I tried.

Oh man that scared me a little o.o

I haven't come across such a situation yet, thankfully. However, I do understand the sentiment as I have seen people being harassed on other social platforms and I have been up for the help as much as possible. I would love to be a part of the movement here too, in my own limited capacity. I think Steemit deserves much better environment than other social platforms as people are actually looking forward to honest feedback for their work, thoughts and opinions and expect the least to be harassed or reading hate speech. I would never want to wake up to a hate comment on any of my blogs on steemit, ever. Hence, great initiative.

Thanks for the support. When you have time wander around steemit.chat and visit some of the abuse fighting channels. Or hang out in steemitabuse. We always welcome help!
