Afromexicanos
El término afromexicano es utilizado para identificar a los mexicanos de ascendencia africana subsahariana, también son llamados afrodescendientes aunque este termino ha entrado en desuso. Los afromexicanos se ubican principalmente en las zonas costeras y en los poblados a las orillas de los ríos en los estados de Guerrero, Oaxaca, Michoacán y Veracruz, a partir de 2015, el INEGI decidió contar a los mexicanos negros por una fuerte presión que ejercieron los activistas e intelectuales,1 argumentando que los afromexicanos no se identifican con los grupos indígenas ni los mestizos en todos los ámbitos, racial y cultural.
