Why did Jesus have to die?

in #christian-trail7 years ago

Dear steemit friends, why did Jesus have to die?

Did He change God's mind concerning you and I?
Did his death made God able to love us?
Did it enable God to forgive us?

Why did He really die for?
Many of us never understood why He came, and most of us think it's enough to just listen and follow what everyone has said about a spiritual reality or a concept. Dear friends, we need to spend more time in studying the being of God then to follow the masses [religion]. Doing what everyone is doing doesn't mean you're in the right path.

For me personally, I rather join Paul in this matter. Salvation isn't 50% God and 50% you, it's 100% God in Christ by the Holy Spirit. So, I don't see the death of Jesus changing God's mind about us, nor His ability to love or forgive us. Rather, the cross changes our minds about God and demonstrates both His forgiveness and love for us at our very worse! Look close what Paul the Apostle is saying here:

"And although you were at one time estranged and alienated and hostile-minded [toward Him], participating in evil things, yet Christ has now reconciled you [to God] in His physical body through death, in order to present you before the Father holy and blameless and beyond reproach" Colossians 1:21-22

Sort:

He died because God wants to forgive us for our sins, if we're repentant, but He must also punish sin. Jesus' death also demonstrates His love towards us, which can make us realize that we're sinful and have sinned against Him.

There are many ministries out that that have written on these questions. Gotquestions.org is just one. I don't have all the time it would take to reply to this, and they've done a very good job of it already.

They point out these Scriptures, among others:

“God made Him (Christ), who knew no sin, to be sin for us that we might become the righteousness of God in Him” (2 Corinthians 5:21). "

"Surely he has borne our griefs and carried our sorrows; yet we esteemed him stricken, smitten by God, and afflicted. But he was wounded for our transgressions; he was crushed for our iniquities; upon him was the chastisement that brought us peace, and with his stripes we are healed. All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; and the LORD has laid on him the iniquity of us all."

"When the prophet John the Baptist saw Him, he cried, "Behold, the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world!” (John 1:29)."

So you rather google what someone else wrote than to do your own research?
Interesting... read the bible verse I gave above [in the post], that will help. Also you will enjoy more the discussions when you read first the post and understand the context!

Well, I did read the post. Why would you say then that I didn't read it? That's untrue.

I don't agree with what the post says. It's not in line with what the Bible says.

And we are to be good stewards of things, including our time. I have researched these questions in the past, but don't have a reply written, while other Christians have already answered these questions, so being a good steward of my time and resources, I used the work of other Christians. And I didn't even quote anything they said, but just the Bible verses they mentioned.

What about those Bible verses then?

What does the bible say?

Thank for your sharing also. :)

You are welcome to resteem it dear...

I believe we all have an immediate understanding upon leaving this plane of existence...

flat earth plane

Did you read the post?
Take time to read and see the context and what the message is... It's not about us but Jesus... What about His death?

eventually everyone dies.

That's right, I agree with you 100%. The good news here is that Jesus died our death and rose the 3rd day, not because the Son of God needed resurrection but with us He came from death according to Paul the apostle [Ephesians 2:6]
Salvation is found in Jesus Christ!
