Diotreophes. 3rd John 9

The pastor preached about Diotreophes who wanted to have pre-eminence (superiority, distinction, prominence, importance, prestige) in the church. And what he did in the position he attained. Also questioned why he was allowed to do the things he did in the church? How did he get into the position? Where was the leadership of the church?
Some said the Pastor got a little loud and long. I wouldn't know.
I guess even pastors and leaders are human as well.

The believers back at that time, didn't have the written word as we do now.
So, anyone wanting to gain a leadership role had an advantage because of that.
Not so much now though.
We have a lot of believers that have a good understanding of what is true and what is false.
Thank you for pointing out that not all of those in the church
leadership role, have the right motivation.
