LEFT-RIGHT BRAIN CONFLICT

The brain is a very complex part of the human body. It is made up of two hemispheres / sides, known as the right and left.

Ever been in a situation where you needed to make a split second action, and you've got two options to choose from but ended up doing none because you couldn't decide? The reason for that is caused by left-right brain conflict. Your left side of the brain wanted to do something different from the right side and hence you were thrown into confusion, unable to make a decision.

These two halves of your brain control the opposite sides of the body. The right hemisphere controls the left side of your body and vice versa. This has the potential to lead to a left brain right brain conflict. Also, the two halves of your brain control very different functions for us. The right side of your brain handles the original components of our lives. These innovative components include artistic ability, music, imagery, and facial recognition. The left hemisphere is the side mostly responsible for logical thought and deals with numbers, logic, analysis lists, and facts.

People always use both sides of their brain but will favor one side over the other. For example, most can undertake basic mathematical functions but will never aspire to be a mathematician. We can all appreciate a beautiful picture but will never aspire to be an artist. Most fall somewhere in the middle. When we try to fool our brains, we often end up with the hemispheres contradicting each other. Thus resulting in a left brain right brain conflict.

For example, the answer to the first word is ‘green’ as you are trying to identify the colour of the text and not the word itself.

Now I know a question most people would want to ask. Which hemisphere of the brain is more important?
It’s a very a popular thought today—that the differences between right and left brain are so essential that you have one dominant brain that influences your personality. In reality, though, this is an incorrect belief. You can’t say that one side is more important than the other. The characteristics and activities of both the left and right brain are essential to human life. Any disorder in either the right or left hemisphere leads to significant trouble with coordination, thinking, or socializing. That shows us that every function of each side of the brain is unique and valuable. Both hemispheres work equally—even when you’re accomplishing a typical left brain function, you’re using your right hemisphere simultaneously and vice versa.
