What the hell is going on! I bought them as a hedge against the fall of bitcoin at 1USD, and now they have fallen in satoshi price with the fall of bitcoin in dollars!!! Who is responsible for maintaining the 1USD exchange rate?

When people expect Steem price to fall in the next future they prefer to sell with discount rather then use 3 days long internal convertion. If SBD price will be below 1$ for a longer period - Steemit witnesses usually would provide some premium for using internal conversion.
don't forget that when you are looking at the STEEM DOLLARS that's what you have earned from the platform. granted it needs looking at again because it can become hard work to work out how much you are earning from the platform. But it's a start

if bitcoin goes up or down you can bet the rest of the market will follow suit.
USDT is stable at any bitcoin price, so can't agree.
