TWO TYPE OF COURAGE EVERY LEADER MUST HAVE.
Leadership simply can be rephrased as the ability to motivate people to move with you, accomplishing tasks willingly without force. There is a difference between a boss, a manger and a leader and the difference is the willingness to die for the course.
A leader must have two qualities for people to willingly follow them. First, a leader must have vision. That is, a leader must see clearly where he want to go before he can take people along with him. A blind man can't lead another blind man.
The second quality a leader must posses before people can willingly follow his course is courage. Some would call it Confidence, it's all the same thing. No one want to follow someone who shows fear. Remember courage doesn't mean you are not scared but you have enough resolve to do it anyway.
What we are looking at today is the two types of courage a leader must posses.
First is the courage to take action or the leap of faith. As a leader, you are expected to believe in the goal before you can ask others to believe. Even when things doesn't make much sense yet, you still take the action because you know that the ideas don't come out fully formed but makes more sense as you work on them.
Secondly, is what I'd like to call the "Courageous patience". Many leaders have the ability to take action but quit immediately things start falling apart. A leader is no quitter because he know that there is no failure and you fail only when you quit. A leader should be persistence.
