You reach the pinnacle of the hill and approach the 11th tee box. The beauty of the vista from here is amazing, multi-hues of the blue and turquoise Caribbean Sea set behind an Island green. This is where you want (and need) to hit your best shot, to feel the exhilaration of landing your ball on the putting surface. As you leave the cart and plant your feet on the grass, you feel the breeze in your face. Ahhh, this feels great, the sun has been relentlessly beating on you all afternoon.
Surveying the hole, you pace off the distance from the marker, you remember the breeze and decide to add one club to the distance. Going back to the cart you reach into your bag for the perfect club. Stabbing the ground with your tee, you place the dimpled, white sphere behind the white markers. Next you stand behind the ball, visualizing the shot you are about to hit. Completing this, you line up your club and take your stance. Looking back and forth between the ball and the hole, once, twice... breathe, that's right relax. One more look at the target and you pull the trigger, making a smooth backswing transitioning into a powerful downswing. The ball arches through the air, cutting through the breeze, landing softly on the green. Satisfaction fills you, but you realize the wind was stronger than you thought. Your ball is safe and dry, but a long way from the back pin placement.
