Papillon! Party No. 1.
As previously stated, 13 parties were held at 13 separate child care organizations. The Papillon Foundation and Santa Shoebox supplied "Santa Shoeboxes" to each child that were listed by the institutions. The Ligstad (Lighthouse) Care Center was our first party! Each child received a box of new gifts and you can see what it meant to them!
Unemployment is a serious issue in our country and many have to go without. An article in todays Newspaper, 'The Saturday Citizen" states that "Last year was something of a tipping point, the IRR analysis shows. For the first time the number of people on welfare exceeded the number of people who have jobs" Need I say more?
Your charity service is very similar to our Saint Francis Fund of Deva (Dévai Szent Ferenc Alapítvány) in Transsylvania and Hungary, with the leader of frater Csaba Böjte, who helped thousands of orphaned children to begin their independent life.
