Meet Ntombi the Jackal!

Ntombi means Girl and she has only 3 legs!

The story about Ntombi and her mate is in the last photo at the end of this post. We decided to visit a Cheetah sanctuary here and I will show you some of the residents in my posts. The sanctuary also runs an Anatolia dog project to expose the benefits of these great livestock guard dogs to local farmers.
Ntombi is a Black backed Jackal and a true survivor!

We love visiting animal and bird sanctuaries, as these are the places where one can meet caring souls and hear some totally amazing stories about the animals' battles for survival. Many miracles can also be seen in the treatment of the animals.

We have seen birds with broken wings, missing legs. Blind birds and animals. Cases of severe neglect and torture. Damaged limbs. Tormented minds. Fear of people and noises. Deep scars to their bodies and minds reflect in their eyes. Lacking confidence which they once had in abundance.

Look how flamingo's weather a storm, they know that the sun will shine again!

What an analogy from nature for all of us! How many of us have broken wings, damaged limbs, scarred faces, and cut open hearts? Tortured minds and numbed emotions. Tending our fears, instead of walking in the sunlight. Caring for our hurts, instead of flying in-between the clouds.

Life, people and troubles inflict their wounds and blows on our hearts, minds and souls - leaving life-long pain and injury. So what to do? It is not for us to lie in the dust...or to hide in the shadows.

We are made for the sunlight...for the refreshing breezes...for the blue and open skies...and the cloudless heavens. We were not created for the darkness and shadows. Ours is the pure, radiant light that pushes the darkness away.

May we walk in the light of the day...and help others to do the same, pulling them from the shadows and darkness of pain and sorrow. Lifting them up with us to the skies of the deepest blue...with warm sunlight touching our beings with warmth and comfort. No more fears...no more tears...no more pain.

We run with the animals and fly with the birds in nature's freedom with no more hindrances to our walks in this life.
