How often do you take a break?

Here we have a couple of young ones resting in a garden! I want to highlight the importance of taking a regular break to everyone! We are all driven and for my past 16 years at The Papillon Foundation I have a 100% attendance record. We even worked on public holidays and as we also worked on Saturdays, there was simply no time and no money for a break during the year. So we would work hard every year and only take a 2 week break every December.
Stress was fierce, as we struggled every month-end to cover the overheads and it was a continual battle to raise food and clothing donations for the poor people.
Only lately do I understand the folly of pushing oneself beyond the limits!
I will show you below what I mean!

Need I say more? This wheel has reached the end of its road!

This old wagon has carried thousands of souls and goods! Now it is also at rest!

This guy could never have thought that he would end up like this!

All that the old Chevvy is useful for now, is to evoke memories of the past.

A long time ago, he was one of the strongest and best looking vehicles in the field and on the road. Full of energy and drive! Now only the chickens and the spiders find a use for him.

I guess by now you can understand what I am getting at?
We should learn to love and to care for ourselves. Yes, there is not one body that can endure endless abuse, as sooner or later the body will receive a message from the brain that enough is enough!
If you are driven and spend all of your time chasing your dreams and opportunities, please think about your body's limits! Yes, some are stronger than others and they last a bit longer, but beware!

A time will come when you will be forced to rest!
I pray that it will not arrive in the same manner as my own, as believe me, it comes as a shock. The first thought is always denial. No, not me, this cannot happen to me as I am very strong and I can work day and night! Rest is for those that need it and I definitely don't! I share my foolish thoughts with you as a warning.
Rest is an absolute necessity! Don't fool yourself by pushing beyond your body's limits!
For as sure as I live, every body on earth has its limits! Even young chickens can understand that (first photo)
Think about it!

Good photo. Thanks fir sharing @papil

Thank you for supporting our charity page! Blessings!

Such a powerful picture of how our body's can wear out when we over extend ourselves! With everything we undertake we need wisdom and the ability to trust that after we have done what we can do God will do the rest!

You are so right! Burn-out is a nasty business, especially if one is passion driven! Wisdom should rather be the driver and as you say, trust is an absolute! Thank you for your kind support to our charity page! Blessings! Stephen

This is a very important message for a lot of people.
I'm going to show this to my wife, she doesn't realize she's working herself to the bone.

Glad that it's of use to you my friend! It was my intention with the post to warn others, but as I see, not many seem to have found it useful! My concern is not the money but rather the importance of my messages! Hope your wife will benefit from the message! Blessings! Stephen
