Happy Friday Squirrel Fun!steemCreated with Sketch.

We call her "Squirry"! Every morning at 8am she scratches at the back door for breakfast!

Now Squirry doesn't have a watch or any other way that she can tell the time, but you can set your watch to her timekeeping. 8am in the morning and 4pm in the afternoon have become her daily routine times to visit our restaurant (home).
We found a new brand of peanuts imported from Malawi today. The nuts are much bigger and cheaper and the main thing is that Squirry is very happy with the new nuts.
Come and have a look!

IMG_7666.JPG

As you can see, it was a bit of a dreary morning over here and thin clouds covered the sky for the whole day!

IMG_7623.JPG

Ever so gently she fetches a nut at a time out of Marian's hands!

IMG_7628.JPG

A happy look here, but I have to keep my distance, as Squirry moans when I come too close!

IMG_7632.JPG

Oh! And of course she is also happy to be taken for a slow stroll swinging on Marian's back!

IMG_7636.JPG

Popping over Marian's shoulder here for another nut!

IMG_7638.JPG

And sitting in Marian's neck to eat the nut!

VIDEO! Below!
I dislike using screaming capitals, but this is an exception, as many don't read the posts.

Marian puts Squirry in a tree when the nuts are almost finished.
Squirry leisurely finished off the second last nut here!

IMG_7650.JPG

And here she ate the last nut upside down!

IMG_7496.JPG

Now as you can see "Robbie" the Robin here, this is our bird bath!

IMG_7654.JPG

But when Squirry is around, she chases the birds and claims the birdbath as her own!

A real royal little madam is our Squirry and she has crept deep into our hearts.
One morning our little dog was barking like crazy in our lounge and we found Squirry on the top of our dining table munching away at a small bowl of acorns that Marian has collected and placed on the table.
Marian grabbed some nuts while I removed Troy and she led Squirry out of the house.
Squirrels live for 3 to 5 years and we have no problem feeding Squirry for the time that she is around, although we like to keep her semi wild and will never try to tame her.
Wild animals belong in their own wild habitat and we really pray that the smuggling of wildlife will come to end.

Our Rhino's are killed for their horns, the Vultures are poisoned and killed for their heads and claws, just as the lions are killed for their heads, paws, skin and bones. Each year a new specie of wild animal is placed on the endangered list and it continues unabatedly. I have highlighted this sad scenario several times in the past and will continue to post about poaching havoc that is going on not only here, but across the African continent.
Sad stories are plenty, such as a guy raising a leopard in his flat and others keeping wild animals for sale in tiny and cramped cages. Mankind's cruelty has no bounds!

But in any case, a Happy Friday to all and we hope that you have enjoyed the fun pictures.

What a beautiful interaction with that squirrel.
Happy day, @papilloncharity!

Thank you my friend and she is a little gift to us.
Hope that you also have a great day!
Blessings!

I need a squirrel alarm clock.

Animal abuse really bothers me. The obvious stuff is being tackled a lot and gets attention, but the less obvious stuff is very prevalent.

Hahaha, a squirrel alarm clock would indeed be a novelty my friend.
But of course a plastic one can never match a live one Lol.

Yep! Many things are going on in the dark side of life my friend.
But we are the light and history shows that the dark flees before the light.
May it also be like this on steemit.
Blessings!

Such a fun little buddy :)

Thank you and she is a very cute little character my friend.
Blessings!

Thank you and I am sure that squirry will also love you!

Always amazed and smiling when I see the interaction between Marian and Squirry

Have a good weekend :)

Hahaha, they certainly are having fun together JJ.
May you guys also have a good weekend my friend.
Blessings!

Squirry loves Marion. What a great video Sir Stephen. Marion really is a squirrel whisperer. 😊 🐿

Hahaha, I will tell her Lady Jo.
It is not all peaches and roses however, as sometimes squirry will arrive here frazzled and it's a real battle to calm her down.
Thankfully she doesn't bite, but she will run all over Marian's body at high speed, leaving small scratches from her nails on the arms and legs.
But life goes on as they say.
Hope that you are having a good weekend my friend!
Blessings!

So lovely to have such a relationship with a wild creature! Gave me lots of smiles!
Thanks for sharing them!
I must say it saddened me deeply to think of animal poaching and the cruelty that people can inflict on animals - I don't understand how people could be like that and it grieves me so but it is a reality!

Glad that you liked the squirry story my friend.
It is always a very difficult thing to try and understand why people, no matter how poor, would poach animals.
Of course greed and syndicates play the biggest role in all of this.
Rhino horn is simply compressed hairs and science has shown that it holds absolutely no medical properties, yet in Asia the lie is spread that it can help with male infertility and sexual stimulation.
An ounce of hair is worth almost as much as gold!
Just one of the madnesses of this world that we live in.
Blessings!
