A Glass Woman Statue!
Ever seen a full size glass statue of a woman titled "Stargazer"?
I was totally blown away when I saw this new statue today. The sunlight revealed some interesting round circles in the glass of the statue and her face, as she looked up at the stars, was crystal clear.
It all started as I was following a large predator bird that was flying towards the mountains. I got a couple of shots of him, but he was very high up and I knew that he would drop down near the mountains.
The closest place at the base of the mountains was the Lourensford wine farm and as we entered the farm I forgot all about the bird, as this life-size glass statue called out to me.
Come and have a look!
Now who would not stop and stare in awe at this glass figure?
How fabulous is this and it is fully weatherproof!
She is staring up at the stars and the colors of the statue were fascinating!
Such neat and detailed work that it was almost alive!
Of course I had to take photos of her from both sides as this is a stunning beauty!
Beautiful colored rings somehow worked into the glass all over the statue!
The best news is that she and others like her are for sale by a very renowned South African artist!
This picture below is taken from his website!
Here is some other bronze works by the same artist.
The statue of freedom cast in full bronze!
Another view of the freedom bronze statue, about 8 feet high!
Of course this is Africa and his animal statues are also fabulous, as you can see here with the "Wildebeest"
And finally a bronze Cheetah, this is Africa's fastest animal!
And That's All Folks!
There are a few other statues also on display at the farm, most notably a huge naked man with his full neither regions revealed, but I decided against posting his picture, because some kids might be seeing this.
All that I can tell you is that this artist's work is of the best that I have ever seen.
In fact, I spoke to the artist today and his name is Louis Chanu.
Told him that I am placing his work on Steemit and on the other @papilloncharity social pages.
Should any of the readers here want to get into contact with the artist, I have placed his contact details here below.

And should you want to see Lourensford Wine Estate.
Welcome to Lourensford Estate. As one of the world’s most beautiful wine estates we offer a visual feast across 4 000 hectares of forest, fynbos, fruit orchards and vineyards, which rise up the slopes of the Helderberg Mountains, caressed by breezes off the Atlantic Ocean.
Note: This is NOT a sales pitch, as papilloncharity is not an unethical non-profit and we will get no money from any of the artist's sales.
We hope that you have enjoyed the pictures and thank you for visiting the blog of @papilloncharity

That is stunningly beautiful!
I went to the artists website and the images he had of this statue on the ocean with special lighting on it is even more beautiful!
He is a very fine artist indeed!
It makes me wonder how the piece was created to get those wonderful effects in the glass?
Glad you dropped your chase for the predatory bird to capture these photos instead!
Thanks for sharing!
Thank you and the artist has invited me to visit his his workshop. We will soon know how he makes the statues my friend.I edited one of his website photos into the post this morning, as the setting sun and the ocean enhances the glass statue and it is certainly beautiful.
Blessings and thank you!
Oh how fortunate to be able to go to his workshop!

Struggling this side with the powercuts again JJ.
Thank you mate!
Ohh no sorry to hear that
Corruption has certainly cost this country dearly JJ.
It is estimated that we will have forced power cuts for at least another 5 years, before the system is corrected.
Blessings!
So sorry to hear that, so sad when I country that could be in so much of a better state is dragged down by corruption

Lighting through the lady makes her exceptional in design, his work is so compelling Stephen.
Amazing Lady Joan and he obviously has a huge talent.
Not only did he create the glass statues, but he also considered the effects that the light would play in them.
Definitely a master this guy!
Blessings and hope your weekend is good my friend!
It would be extremely interesting seeing him working with glass, steps he used to obtain end result.
Very hot walk again today, poor dog is panting behind me totally kaput!
We also took little Troy out for a walk and had to stop in a shade spot every few minutes Lady Joan. This week is filled with the 30S.
Best to stay indoors.
I will make sure to get a good idea of the statue making process. The post that I did about the statue will be shared to his Facebook account when I figure out how to do it lol.
Blessings!
Torrid humidity here, when it breaks it will come along with vengeance for sure. Dogs are not enjoying this hot weather, after their park walk yesterday they enjoyed a good drink of water we take with for them and Woody refused to move, really battled to get him back into the bakkie to go home....
Well if you master the craft, keep it secret it really is a beautiful piece of work.
