WHAT ARE YOU DOING TONIGHT?
I just kind of take what comes!
Tonight, a mama Jill Opossum with a marsupial pouch full of Joeys stopped by the compost. I couldn't resist, and just had to peek. Have you ever looked inside? This is not our first time, LOL. Also, they've got more teeth than any other North American mammal, so even though it may look like I'm wringing her neck, there's a lot of fur, and I'm just keeping control of the situation. I'm not even sure how many are in there!

Are they not very fast or are you just a ninja in your sneaking up skills? How did you catch it?
The possum or rabbit belongs to the family Didelphidae.
There are several species of possum:
1° The common rump tail (Didelphis marsupialis).
2° The Andean rabipelado (Didelphis albiventris)
3° The Guianese rabbit (Didelphis azarae).
They are animals of terrestrial habit, but they are also very skillful at climbing trees, either for feeding, sleeping, or escaping from danger. During the day they sleep in tree holes or in leaf nests they make between the branches.
They can also take refuge underground in burrows made and abandoned by other animals, in cracks between rocks, or inside sheds or warehouses crammed with cluttered materials. They are often seen walking on top of walls and ledges, or crossing streets and roads.
Possums are not dangerous animals, but they can become aggressive and bite if cornered or attempted, at which point they make a rather high-pitched and repeated sound, although they are more likely to deploy other, less orthodox methods of defense. For example, they may urinate and defecate, and roll in their feces and then spread or fling their serifs in the direction of the bully - the urine from the bully has a very strong, rather unpleasant smell, and some say it is irritating.
They also have a "habit" of playing dead when they are attacked, staying long periods without moving, waiting for the attacker to lose interest and leave them alone. It is not clear whether this is a simulation or an involuntary act due to stress, as they seem to considerably decrease their vital signs and lose all sensitivity.
