This Mentality Will KILL YOU

Don't fall into this trap!

Unfortunately for many, an inaccurate view of reality is easy to adopt. When a distorted perspective is embraced, people can set themselves up for failure or even worse, an untimely and otherwise avoidable death. In this video, I share what I believe is a dangerous and potentially lethal response that I received to a video I made about eight months ago. I'm not trying to attack or expose anyone, but rather to show a dangerous mentality, and by doing so help others avoid falling into such a trap. I hope it'll help some people out there.

I've lived on a tiny plot in NYC with a tiny back yard. I had chickens, grew food, knew several edible and medicinal plants in my tiny yard, could preserve and process foods, and got out of debt. I'll have to work on the water purification. So easy to do all of these things. Some people just want to see nothing but doom and gloom ahead.

Indeed, anything is possible, and with some effort, it's not really that hard. Thanks for the comment, and for checking it out @owasco!

💯 agree with you. I live in the city (at the moment) I already do 8 out 10 things on your list. 9 and 10 are the tough ones. However, those two are things are more of a buffer, in a pinch if I have the other 8 things covered, I should be fine in a pinch.

Long story short, I’m with ya on this and I’m glad you addressed this dangerous mindset. Which is really just someone copping out rather than working to accomplish these steps.

Thanks and Take care brotha!

Of course it's always a good idea to learn things, like survival skills and gardening and whatever. And that a sensealble life style without living as a slave of a bank is better goes without question.
I can, however, see the point behind the remarks you criticise. It is true of course, that if you don't try, you have already lost. But I agree with some points the commenter made, in that you advise is not realistic.
Like this hunting and fishing and finding eatable things in the city . Yes, it is possible - it is possible now. Because nobody really is depending on it, and 99% of the people don't try it and probably don't even know about it.
But if things would get bad, and I mean really bad and not only for a few days - what do you think how long it takes until that even the last rat is eaten and the last dandelion plucked? With the amount of people living in cities today, it's not possible to keep them alive as hunter/gatherers or balcony gardeners. And at that point, they will move into the country side, but like desperate hungry locusts.
The life style you have now is certainly positive in view ecology, providing a healthy environment (also mentally) for your kids and so on, no doubt. But it also works best if the world around you is functioning. Whatever that means nowadays. But if it stops functioning, this very life style will make you a primary target for the legions of unfortunate, who also don't want to see their children die from starvation and who will do everything to prevent that, just like you do.
