The CUBAN BROWN ANOLE

in OCD4 years ago

It had been years since I saw one of these in the wild.

The Cuban Brown Anole is a nonnative species here in the United States. Many even consider it invasive, and rightfully so. Native to Cuba and the Bahamas, they now have a flourishing population established across the southern United States. I've personally seen them in the wild in Louisiana, Texas, and now Mississippi too. Unfortunately, they compete with the native Green Anole and other lizards, and have a negative impact on their populations. This is one of several that I captured on film and in hand as well while in Biloxi, MS for work recently. Enjoy the photos.
