SPIRITUAL FOOD 4 THOUGHT : MY YOKE IS EASY AND MY BURDEN IS LIGHT

in #spirituality5 years ago

Sounds good, doesn't it?

It's interesting to consider what Jesus says, and compare it with other things that He's said. Time and time again it seems that people like to conclude the opposite of what He actually said. In this video we'll take a peek at the title verse, and compare it to a few others to hopefully gain some deeper insight into the truth.

Hey @papa-pepper, you've been around a while. Have you ever checked out the #powerhousecreatives (formerly #steemitbloggers)? I know you're kind of a big deal but I think you might like our little group. :-)

We're all about quality content and engagement. Search for either of the above tags to learn more. We'd love to have you. :-)

I'll check it out, thanks for reaching out!

I really like your angle on this, it's amazed me since i was a child that people don't interpret scriptures within their own reasoning, beliefs, understanding and core ultimately. The stories in the bible have taken on a whole new context for me over the years as my knowledge around certain subjects grew and personal experiences. I think that if you take any scripture at face value or adopt another persons interpretation of it it's a clear indication that you're not the self development path. We are here to find our own truths, and you cant get there if you don't think for your self.

As I was listening to the video a couple of verses came to mind.....

Deuteronomy 30:11-14 “For this commandment which I command you today is not too mysterious for you, nor is it far off. 12 It is not in heaven, that you should say, ‘Who will ascend into heaven for us and bring it to us, that we may hear it and do it?’ 13 Nor is it beyond the sea, that you should say, ‘Who will go over the sea for us and bring it to us, that we may hear it and do it?’ 14 But the word is very near you, in your mouth and in your heart, that you may do it.

1 John 5:2-3 "By this we know that we love the children of God, when we love God and keep His commandments. 3 For this is the love of God, that we keep His commandments. And His commandments are not burdensome."

Very nice. I'm doing a follow up video that will head deeper into this, and I'll be sharing that Deuteronomy passage, along with a few others. Thanks!

The Law was for Israel. Grace is for everyone. We no longer have to keep the 613 parts of the Jewish law. Read the New Testament. It's impossible to miss it.

You go ahead and not keep them...I want to be great in the kingdom of heaven...

Matthew 5:18-19 - For assuredly, I say to you, till heaven and earth pass away, one jot or one tittle will by no means pass from the law till all is fulfilled. 19 Whoever therefore breaks one of the least of these commandments, and teaches men so, shall be called least in the kingdom of heaven; but whoever does and teaches them, he shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven.

@barncat says "the law was for Israel"

The Bible says

You shall have the same law for the stranger and for one from your own country; for I am the Lord your God.’ ”
Leviticus 24:22 NKJV

Let us hear the conclusion of the entire matter: Fear Elohim and guard His commands, for this applies to all mankind!
Qoheleth (Ecclesiastes) 12:13 TS2009

Do we then nullify the Torah through the belief? Let it not be! On the contrary, we establish the Torah.
Romiyim (Romans) 3:31 TS2009

barncat says "we no longer have to keep the 613 parts of the Jewish law"

I @dwells say first of all Jewish law is the talmud, all of the laws that Jewish rabbis created to add on top of the laws that God gave. The 613 commands are from the Torah and they are God's commands God's laws and they are for all of us and for today.

The one who says, “I know Him,” and does not guard His commands, is a liar, and the truth is not in him. But whoever guards His Word, truly the love of Elohim has been perfected in him. By this we know that we are in Him. The one who says he stays in Him ought himself also to walk, even as He walked.
Yoḥanan Aleph (1 John) 2:4‭-‬6 TS2009
