SPIRITUAL FOOD 4 THOUGHT : JUST AGING OR ACTUALLY MATURING?

It is a lot easier to age than it is to mature.

Using King Ahab's actions in 1 Kings 21:4 as a foundation, in this video I discuss some of the difference between maturing and just growing older. With a practical consideration for not only our own walks but also our parenting, I think it's some worthwhile food for thought.

I don't see what you can learn about the Christian life when looking at an evil Old Testament king.

If we're saved we have the Holy Spirit. If we engage in spiritual disciplines like regular prayer, Bible reading, Bible study, and church attendance we should grow spiritually. Especially if we grow in obedience as we grow older.

If you haven't seen the work of the Holy Spirit in your life you should examine yourself and determine if you're in the faith.

Honestly, I know sometimes that you seem to "troll" the community of believers here and like to tell everyone that "they are wrong," but please consider:

"All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: That the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works." 2 Timothy 3:16-17 King James Version (KJV)

Perhaps there are even things in the Old Testament (Scripture) that may be profitable for men of God, unless Paul was lying to Timothy. Perhaps this message wasn't for you, but it seems that some were blessed by it. As a parent, it gave me some good insight into raising my children and it was beneficial for them to consider as well. (We found it profitable, as we do with all of God's Word.)
