MAKING VENISON JERKY FOR THE TRIP!

While we learn various skills or use the skills we've already acquired, it's important to be passing that information on to the next generation too. With some venison still not canned or frozen, we've been cooking some recently and preserving it. With some of what would otherwise just be scraps, we decided to make some venison jerky for our upcoming trip. While I worked on other things, I walked Red-Pepper through marinating and prepping the jerky, and now she's got them in the oven! I can't wait to taste what

I never liked jerky before but I wonder how would you describe the taste of venison jerky?
@simms50, You have asked a question that I have been trying to answer for a very long time. Venison Jerky is so much better than Beef it is a little scary, it has a slight "wild" flavor and there is NO antibacterial shots going on that alter the taste. I hope that @papa-pepper can answer better than that as I still haven't the good answer. Mitch
