I found and identified it, I just let him pick it up!
I love living where we do, and being able to enjoy the biodiversity on our property. This Rough Green Snake is one of many beneficial, harmless, nonvenomous species that we encounter periodically. To educate our children and prevent them from having irrational fears of everything, I like to spend a lot of time with them in the natural world, and explain to them what each creature and plant is, and which ones we need to watch out for. Here's a handful of photos to enjoy!
