A new painting - Work in progress
This the new painting I'm working on today. It comes from one of the many drawings I did in the last months. It's a tempera on cardboard, size 60x45 cm.
As you can see, there is a double layer: the background is a fantastic scene (with a double layer itself) of giant cats. The second layer is a couple of heads in a "picassian"/primitive style, drew in simple shapes, as you can see better in this detail:
I'll keep working on this painting increasing the contrast between the two layers.
My cat said a disappointed "meow", while I was painting :D

My eyes keep shifting between the planes, trying to make sense of the image as a whole. It's very confusing. I like that, cool work!
First i thought it is a big cow with a tail of a cat :-)
I would like to see it in real size.. probably impressive!
:-)
I love your lines and brushwork. It always gives me that feeling of the 'between the war' years of the 30's which was such a rich time for art.
I love the shifting perspective.
Only saw the heads when you said it... Amazing, waiting for the final piece! Good to see you having a balance between painting and ONO stuff :)

STOP! Freeze Frame!

.... cats are hard to please :D but a disappointed meow? i wonder how that'd sound !
Rule No. 1: Never lose money. Rule No. 2: Never forget rule No.1
What I find impressive is the way to create works of art so creatively, as seen the combination of animals and people in one, is an excellent job :)
It seems people were walking inside Cats belly.
