A Passion Reignited By Steem
In 2010 I begged my mother for a Canon Rebel T2i. The price was exactly $999. I was ecstatic and was taking pictures of everything, I even went to Europe when I was 16 and took some pictures that I barely even have anymore. Here’s my most favorite that I kept from that trip and the entire DSLR in general.
I tried to make some videos but it didn’t workout quite the way I wanted to, and the settings on my camera were hard to understand, with that my passions started to dwindle. In the corner of my bedroom remains the barely used but now barely unusable camera. It’s short lived life makes me cringe in guilt as I persuaded my mom that is what I wanted to do. I went to college and ended up with a very rewarding degree in Dental Hygiene. I stopped getting creative to hit the books night and day. Although there is no regret, I just hate that I felt there was no room for me in the videography and photography world...not even as a hobby.
Yesterday I went out exploring with my new camera after a few days of having it and feeling a bit more comfortable with navigating the settings. You should of seen me, I was like a baby at a toy store, taking pictures of different things at different angles until I got shots that I was happy with. In the 40 degree weather my fingers were frozen, but I couldn't be happier. I forgot what being behind the lens felt like.
Just to give you guys some perspective, both of the pictures on the bridge were shot the same day, maybe around one hour apart after the sun set. It was also a cloudy day. Time just seemed to pass, but I was in pure bliss capturing my heart away. I am even so happy that I understand night photography and can't wait to gain some skills.
This picture is a bit dark, but thats NYC in a nutshell. At night its dark, especially on a cold and gloomy day. I think its so amazing to capture certain feelings with a simple camera and lens. I also invested in a new lens that works amazing during low light situations such as these, so its exciting to see the difference between lens.
I know I mentioned this in one of my previous posts. I hate when pictures of myself don't come out aesthetically pleasing. But, I have been working it in front of the camera more than ever. I'm telling you, this is nothing short of an art form. I have been taking a lot of inspiration from @eveuncovered, although our types of portraits are radically different - I love how she tells a story and portrays her moods on the camera. I aspire to do the same.
With time I know my photography will get better, I specifically enjoy want to get better at self portraits, landscape, nighttime and macro photography. It feels so good to finally do something for ME again and just share with the world with nothing but pleasure. I really couldn't have done this without the steem blockchain and those supporting me, you know who you are. Thank you all soso much.

Yes!!! Paola, the steem blockchain has allowed us to be us! That is so awesome about it :)
And your pictures 😳 Don't get me started. They are freaking amazing!!!! Sorry...I started :D
Winny out...for now ;)
Haha thank you Winny!
Hello Paola,
I also love taking pictures, I still do not have a camera (I hope Steemit allows me to buy one), until now I have taken photos with my BLU phone and it is so much the passion that I feel when doing it that I feel that they are beautiful.
I have shared some in my post, but I have not had the luck that so many people appreciate them as I would like, for that I thank the people who have done it.
I hope you feel the curiosity to see them (not to get your votes, because the photos are already over 7 days of publication), but if I would like to receive your opinion, since I share something that I like so much and not receive the desired answer It has demotivated a little.
The sunset pic is stunning, where was it taken please ?
It was somewhere in Greece around 8 years ago, I do t exactly remember where :(
lol ok, your old phot collection sounds as organised as mine! Nevertheless, gorgeous pic :-)
@paolajane Very nice pictures!! I can't help myself from sharing this. I find it super, hope you do too. Best wishes :) - @splendorhub

That first portrait, and the one on the bridge...they are very good! I'm glad you took that camera girl:)
Haha thank you :)!
I am excited to see more of Your photography works :D Bring it on
Those photos in the tunnel are so EPIC!
Is there anything you can't do? haha
Haha thank youuu!! :D
Ahh glad the passion for photography has ignited inside you again! ❤️❤️❤️ Definitely something I want to work on as well, the moody feel of what you captured with your new camera is awesome :)
Thank you!! But you’re great at your photography as well!! I have definitely been inspired more than enough by you to pick up the camera ❤️🙏🏽
Your photography is already amazing, if you ask me! I have always wanted to get more into photography but never made the time to learn it. I have a Canon DSLR but it's always been used on the auto setting because I just can't figure it out. Maybe one day!!
Aw thank you so much, I completely understand you, the settings are overwhelming but also stat to make a lot of sense once you start getting into it!!
It's great to read that your passion for photography and videotography has been reignited through STEEM. We're in the same boat. Countless of (luckily not as expensive) digital cameras that end up being used for a few months and then stored away. Now, there's more of a purpose to get back into the hobby and we want to thank this platform for it! 😊
Haha yes!! You totally get it :)
