The soft glow from the ancient clock faded, leaving Finn standing in the quiet shop, his heart pounding. He had only meant to explore the clock’s power, to test what he had learned. But as the light disappeared, Finn realized something was different. The air felt thicker, charged with an energy that hadn’t been there before.

Suddenly, the shop door creaked open, and a figure stepped inside. It was Clara. She looked exactly as she had the night she first arrived—except this time, her expression was one of urgency, not relief.

"Finn," she said, her voice trembling slightly, "what have you done?"

Finn swallowed hard. "I only moved the hands a little. I wanted to understand how it worked."

Clara’s eyes darkened. "The clock isn’t just a tool; it’s a delicate balance. Even the smallest shift can ripple through time. You’ve altered something, and we need to fix it before it’s too late."

Finn felt a knot of fear tighten in his chest. "What do we do?"

Clara stepped forward, her gaze locked on the clock. "We need to find the exact moment you altered and set it right. But time is tricky. It doesn’t like to be tampered with. The clock will fight us."

As they worked together, deciphering the symbols and adjusting the clock’s hands, Finn felt a strange sensation, as if time itself was resisting their efforts. Each adjustment they made seemed to make the clock’s ticking louder, more insistent.

Finally, Clara found the exact moment Finn had altered—a small event that seemed insignificant: a man dropping his pocket watch in the town square. But as they watched through the clock’s vision, they saw the consequences of that moment spiraling out of control, affecting countless lives in ways they could never have imagined.

With careful precision, they reset the clock to the correct time. The room pulsed with energy as the balance was restored. Finn and Clara exchanged a relieved glance, but they both knew this was just the beginning.

The clockmaker’s secret was no longer just Elias’s to keep.
