My Experience with the Diary Game by @pandev

A diary is something I grew up not knowing how to keep. Writing into a book to always reflect on it was like something that wasn’t meant for a villager like me. I lived with people who had diaries and I never got the chance to have one. This has been my experience with diaries outside steemit. Until I joined steemit and I found my way of keeping my diaries. I’m grateful for this.

The diary game is the best unit of life on steemit. It guided me on how I can navigate my way through the steemit blockchain. I remember after my first introductory post; I Showed the steemit community how lovely my village is. Steemit is a place for everyone and no matter where you are coming from, they accept That’s how I regained hope in life. Thanks to the diary game.

The steemit ecosystem isn’t easy to make an influence as a newbie. With diary games, it helped me to be noticed. I did a great job on the days I use to do diary games. I shared clear pictures and made detailed work as to how my day went. People visited my post and saw how great I write; they loved my writing and gave me exposure to start writing articles for their benefit in the blockchain.

Writing is something I was born with. But how to let it communicate was the problem. I use to write and I wouldn’t know how to send a message to my audience. With diary games, we can all testify that, before you can have a great diary game, you should be able to link your morning to the afternoon to your evening. When the reader can get the ingredient, you are sharing, then you have done a great job. I was great in the diary game and that solved my communication problem with my audience. It was great having to experience all this and still learn from it.

When I first joined steemit and heard of the diary game, I thought it was just about games you play. I wanted to take it apart and I was always wondering which game will I play and share. It took me days till I asked @farhmadewho to refer me. He explained to me what it takes to be part of the diary game. I didn’t make any mistakes because I had him. If not, I would need the books of laughter by now.

The advantage of the diary game is it helps newbies especially to blend in with old users. I'm a student at the University of Ghana. I know my school quite well and anytime someone shares a diary game in the school, I then go follow that person up and get the means for us to connect. Even though they are on the platform, I don’t know them. Through diary games, I saw we are in the same place then we meet up and feel the experience of being on steemit. That’s a great way for us to see diary games.

In other terms, it has also been a place we learn to be who we want to be. Develop our writing skills. Gives us the communication and analytic skills to analyze what people might want to see in your posts The implementation of the diary game is great.

For disadvantages, I had the same thought as @ngoenyi. When I went through her engagement post I saw we shared the same fear when joining the diary game. What if someone is tracking me? That was a problem for me and I don’t know if there is an assurance that this will never happen. We do share sensitive information in this game and sometimes it can get messy.

In conclusion, diary games have been the best. As much as we learn, build ourselves, and become great through it, let’s find ways to solve the problem of insecurity with it. Not that I don't like the diary game, but I find it difficult to write it since it's like a repetition in my day. I’m glad about this contest.
