Best Internet Plan for Heavy Users
Since joining steemit and becoming a member of a few communities, I find I use 1.5 gig worth if data in three days. This same worth of data used to last me a month so the first time I ran out in three days I was shocked.
Didn't have a choice though so I adapted. Today though while surfing the net and my favourite forum, I stumbled upon a thread with information for heavy data users. It sounded too good to be true so I decided to test it out.
Introducing Etisalat Nigeria 'Friendly' Data Plan
Etisalat offers a data plan where you can get 1 gigagbyte of data for just two hundred NAIRA. Yeah, you heard right, 200 naira. It has a validity of 3 days and expires at 11:59pm of the third day.
So with this plan, in 30 days you get:
1gb * 10 = 10gb
Valued at
200 naira* 10 = 2,000
So instead of getting 2.5 gb valued at 2,000 on the regular plan, you get 10 gigs at the same price.
There's a slight bad problem though
The bad news in all of this too-good-to-be-true offer is that not everyone is eligible. Etisalat gives this only to 'special' customers on the network.

And you will either get a congratulatory message or get this
Yes, sadly, I got this message too. My mom, however, is special and was accepted. Try yours and you too could be special.
I understand your pain. I've consumed over 1.5 GB in two weeks.
I recommend you use the esteem app, and disable fetch images. This will help you save some data.
Thanks for the recommendation. I have the app and use it, but I think what consumes my data are the notifications from the several communities/groups I joined.
I haven't had any of those since I restricted the use of background data. I have to manually search for comments, upvotes, notifications etc.
But, the data savings are worth it.
