Voter Registration versus Gun Registration
Yesterday I was watching two talking heads screech at each other over gun control. In particular, should gun owners have to register their weapons.
I have never felt strongly one way or the other about this. If I was forced to choose, I probably would have said it should be a requirement. I had heard the arguments from both sides - one side wanting law enforcement to identify the owner of guns used in crimes and the other side concerned that registration is the first step towards confiscation.
It was neither of those arguments that made me realize gun registration was not a workable solution. In fact it was nothing either of those two talking heads said yesterday.
So what was the determinant factor?
I remembered seeing the pro gun registration talking head a few months ago talking about voter registration and maintaining accurate voter rolls. At the time, it appeared to me this talking head had no interest in maintaining accurate voter rolls - in fact I would say he was going out of his way to stop anything that might improve the accuracy of voter rolls.
Right to Vote is more important then the right to own a gun
In my view, the right to vote is much more important then the right to own a gun.
If that talking ahead was against anything that would keep the voter roll accurate, why should I believe the gun register being proposed would be anymore accurate.
Until government can prove it can maintain accurate voter rolls in the long term - then the proposed gun register should not be entertained.

Why would a gun registration system be any more accurate then the voter registration system. With so many errors and inaccuracies, you would have to question how effective such a gun register would be.
Demands for accurate voting rolls from the government seems to fall on deaf ears.
Citizen is a term of servitude, registering to vote is basically handing over your signature to be rubber stamped on countless adhesion contracts, and ultimately it's the factual evidence the incorporated holds as binding contract with you and demands performance through.
Our government is a Republican form of government, not democratic.
