You always appear out of nowhere like some crypto-ninja XD
I know, right? Well, I have a good size frame, so I was smuggling those potatoes pretty well :D :D :D 6'1" and broad shoulders - ideal for spud-smuggling XD
One more bag of potatoes to drop and it's BEACH TIME!(That will probably be mid-winter, so I'll freeze to death... And no, I'm not seriously going to the beach. I just have been influenced by all those vain and silly weight loss infomercials lolz)
Props for making positive life changes! That's awesome, and I'm sure your health will continue to improve :)
I was also really happy to read that you're a fellow standing desk user haha. I just made my makeshift (non-adjustable) standing desk from a multi-tiered shelf and I couldn't be happier with it (hey, I'm on a budget here, lol) What kind do you have?
Yep a bit of room to improve still XD but it's an every day commitment...
My somewhat generic desk was around $400 (what can I say, I was making good money last year XD) I have my notebook on one end and my broken workstation's monitors on the other end... It's too narrow to hold a lot, and being 6'1", I had to boost the keyboard/mouse 6" higher... stack of books...
Monitors are on stands, they're about eye-level...
Varidesk makes an adjustable desk, but I don't think it looks that sturdy?
Congrats! Keep it up!
I eat porridge, drink milk, eat yoghurt and cycle 10-20 miles a day. The menu is not my choice but a health necessity at this point, though.
That's great, I've given away two cycles... one was cheaply made and a little heavy, but the other one was with me overseas and it would have been a nightmare at the airport with all the silly security clowns and all...
I saw the 10 lbs. potato bag image and I was shocked... Still need to lose the extra 5 I think :D
I recently (well maybe few months ago) heard one jujitsu trainer say - make time for fitness or make time for sickness. It stuck with me and now I run almost every day this past month.
I know, the best care is preventive. What I'm doing now isn't the greatest, but it's a good foundation compared to where I was 1.5 years ago :)
I used to run a lot more, although I'm a little concerned about my knees. Some say knees can be strengthened to run safely, but I'm not sure I want to take a chance since I'm without health insurance of any kind XD
Cheers about not having health insurance! Same here.
My knees are in not the greatest condition either and they make crackling noises when I go up stairs, but no pain, so I decided that they will just have to get stronger. :)
Congrats it takes discipline to lose weight! Your probably going to get a lot of advice in this thread so I'll throw my 2 cents in as well. I found the easiest way to lose weight is a ketogenic or low carb diet, basically just cut all sugar, potatoes rice and flour. Eat lots of meat, veg, nuts, eggs and dairy and only moderate amounts of fruit (because it's sugar). I have lost weight effortlessly this way and now I do a more lenient version and stay at the same weight without any effort. Some people go through a mild sugar withdrawal in the first few days but I didn't really experience that. Good luck to you and stay strong, resist the treats!
Thanks @juliakponsford for chiming in. I generally stray from carbs when I can, or make them a minimal factor in what's on the plate.
I'm not one for sugary foods, it's probably rice, bread and pasta that would most likely trip me up. I'm too busy to cook rice/pasta most of the time, though... So it's that delicious toast that's just waiting to spring its merciless trap on me.
That's the tricky part, rice bread etc all break down into sugar so basically eating two slices of brown toast digests like a chocolate bar :( I don't think there 's any need to cut them completely but minimal is always a good rule of thumb. You can do it you just need to have better snacks like nuts or something around to replace it.
I don't know I have heard theories like that I don't know of its true. When you do a strict low carb diet it's under 25 carbs generally which can be pretty hard to do but there are no time restrictions.
I do know though that eating carbs makes you hungrier so it makes more sense to me to eat eggs and spinach cheese omelette for breakfast or something like that and you will stay full longer. Some people even just have bulletproof coffee (coffee blended with coconut oil or butter *barf) and don't eat until supper time.
Maybe do an experiment one day and eat toast and fruit (count the claories) and the next day eggs or some kind of protein (roughly same calories) and take note of how long it is before you get hungry.
I would actually be interested to know if you see a difference with less carbs you may feel less hungry overall.
Dear @overkillcoin, very nice that you have accomplished your goal. I also do lots of sports such as playing basketball and doing fitness. I wanted to ask you if there is any possible way to get in contact with you? I would like to ask you some questions..
Really great and inspiring post 😊 congrats on your accomplishments 👍🤘 truly amazing.
The video 😄 sorry I got fat.. Lol
I might not be fat but sometimes I just wish I didn't make a fool of myself as often as I do 😕
Makes people laugh and me want to just die.. Lol so embarrassing.. Hahaha 😄😁😁
So I would need the song. I'm sorry for being so stupid 😆
You are so tight 😉 as long as we learn from our mistakes and move on that's great 👍
But in that moment of embarrassement,

The insurance situation here's a mess due to decades of government interference... freedom just isn't profitable for the leeches I guess :P
Exactly... just keep a close watch on them, rumor has it that they're important :D

If I char the toast to oblivion, does that pre-burn some of the calories in the toast? I really need to know...
I have a stash of almonds, those help a lot.
Maybe? This could be a whole new way of dieting! Just burn everything until it becomes unappetizing! 😂
Do you feel that, if one is going to have fruit or carbs, it's best to have them early in the morning - so that they can be burned off?

Also, do you find that wheat is the worst of carbs? I've heard oatmeal or whole grain rice is better. Just comparing notes is all.

XD I could write a book on all the stupidity I have accomplished... But if we can learn and move forward, then it's not so bad, right?
I know the feeling of making a mistake and wishing I could be invisable for a day XD
