You deserve a good partner dood. Plus, with knowing what a bad partner is, you will be able to recognize it better and be ready to make real progress.
The comparison is like night and day. The one guy sought to white label me, had me sign a contract for his "protection" - and worst of all - not only paid low, but doubled the scope of the project without compensating me. The guy's skeezy, and other video producers murmur to that effect...
The other guy doesn't care if my logo is visible on my demos that he shares, his pay is through the roof and he just seems way more benign...
By the way, delay on my video, but it's moving along well! Had to back-burner it so I can work on promo stuff.
Yah man I know the pain. When first starting out, being easy to work with can lead to partners taking advantage. I found out you STILL have to have those critical conversations before they become an issue, and immediately address scope creep or any other overages. If it is worth you doing, it is worth them paying. Tough lessons lead to better posture and cooperation the next go around.
