A Square Peg In an A-Hole
I’ve stopped. Stopped trying. Stopped pretending.
It’s painful and difficult. A million lemmings are perpetually beckoning me to come back. Seducing me with shiny objects. Tempting me with 401Ks, security, that food I always wanted.
But I don’t fit. I never did.
Faking it was more. More painful, more difficult, more awkward, more frustrating, more suffocating, more soul crushing. And ironically, I wasn’t truly fooling anybody...except myself.
But am I the square peg? Or am I the a-hole?
I guess that all depends on the beholder. And perhaps what the ‘A’ stands for.
Ass?
Angst?
Arrogance?
Maybe it’s simply Artist.
I get a lot of grief for being an unapologetically self-proclaimed artist. I’m called precious, spoiled, deluded, audacious...and those are just the voices in my head.
But I also get that fizzing feeling in every cell of my body. That one where I know I’m doing what I was born to do. Where I feel joy and purpose and satisfaction. Where I am never conflicted with what I’m doing in the world.
What’s that called again..?

I'm bee bopping around too....my telephoto lens broke the other day - just in time for bird watching. tsk. I have to take it in to see if it can be repaired.....it makes a grinding noise - doesn't sound too happy.

I haven’t officially started curating. I’ve found several high quality posts that I’m either just too late on (someone else got there first) or don’t quite fit curation guidelines...but wind up being upvoted by them as a result of my curation efforts.
Honestly, as much as I love the idea of doing it, I’m not sure I can commit the time at the moment. I’m desperately searching for a three dimensional fiat currency income stream. 😖

My lens is fine. It was my own stupidity - I got a rubber arm bracelet with my last lens purchase.....what was it for? No one knew so I used it on my telephoto lens but placed it too close to where it needs to slide in and out and eventually it stopped it from working. lol Only me.
Bwah hahahahaha! And Phew.
I started using that expression in 5th grade. As far as I remember, I made it up. It drove my mother crazy. Thus I never stopped saying it.
