If I Had One Bitcoin
Hello everyone,
I have a question for you that I need your honest answers; and I am sure we can learn so much from each other through this. I do also LOVE to receive your bitcoin or other currencies if you will like to share…lolz
I spent most of my time online today reading on bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies. I took time to check every site I was directed to and read about different currencies and how I can get ‘a free bitcoin’ as almost all the ads that came up preached. Lolz! I actually wished I got one at the end of the day, but nothing.
I sat back after the strenuous search and mused about the things I would have done with one bitcoin. The rate of bitcoin as at the time I saw the price this evening was $4,350 (coinbase) and multiply it by Nigeria Naira at direct black market of #363 that is = #1,579,050.00. I thought of the lives that can be transformed with this amount and how just one bitcoin would positively affect many destinies.
I went for a steemit campaign in Sabogidda-Ora, Edo state in Nigeria with the hope of getting over a hundred people registered in steemit. The breakthrough punch was to tell them that they can get reward from steemit. I met many young minds who can get a life and living just steeming, but their major complaints includes the lack of access to computer or internet facility, the inadequacy that stir bolding at them everyday and the future they are so unsure of. These were mostly secondary school leavers or fresh university graduates. And even though they were willing, they were not empowered to.
How can they get the reward of what they have no access to? I thought!
Also, before the campaign move to Ora, even before I joined steemit in June 2017, I had thought of reviving my father’s poultry farm which has the capacity of employing at least 10 staff who will work in the local feed mill, the poultry and fishery section of the farm. The farm is located in the centre of Owan West and surrounded by various markets and customers that daily use poultry product. Getting the funds to revive will put us back in business and ease the stress of customers who travel over 50km, to access the poultry farms in Ekpoma.
So if I had one bitcoin, these are the two things I opted to do
- I will revive the poultry farm and stock broiler birds for sales during the Christmas festivity period. And also start the fishery and pullet farming as a long term farm goal. I thought of stocking at least 500 broilers @N240 each that will be sold at the festivity period and started putting together a plan for the 500 broiler farming. This at this stage, will accommodate at most three (3) persons. The feed requirement by ratio of a bird will be 40 Super starter and 30 Broiler finisher which cost at most 4350 per bag. And each bird is sold at between N2500-N3000. This business at 500 birds and little renovation and work done will cost about N500,000 to start up, and if all things go well, a return of about 150% profit over expenses is expected. With this, I can resign from my workplace and concentrate on farming and steeming. Who wouldn’t especially when the pay cannot do so much?
- I also thought of discussing with @ejemai, to translate the Steem Accelerator Hub (STACH) in the location to not only get more people steeming, but to get them empowered. This cost judging from the setting up of STACH is Port harcourt will cost about N675,000 and there will still be some money left which I can use to commence the long term fishery and pullet farming or used to buy more laptops and start the school campaigns too.
BUT, since I don’t have one bitcoin to effect this change, I can actually start by doing something no matter how small. I can start from raising a few birds for the festivity and empowering people to steem, one after the other. I can actually agree to share my laptop or encourage an offline grid where everyone discusses what they will want to share, make videos if videos or type the post. I can actually show people how to steem and allow them learn the process too. I can also allow them access to the internet for as long as they use it for the purpose of steemit and as long as they need until they get to stand independent of me. This thing I can do, one person at a time!
A bitcoin can do so much as it stands, so if I had a bitcoin or half a bitcoin, lolz, I will do the above. But if I don’t get the bitcoin or half of it, I can still do the above, one steem at a time. This is because I know that it is not the amount of wealth that makes the vision work, it is the vision that makes the amount work.

If yuu have 1 Bitcoin don't sell it, wait until at least 2020.
haahahaaa @cryptoeagle. if i kept a bitcoin until 2020, what then happens between now and then?
If i wait until 2020 with a bitcoin, that means i would deprive many people their dreams and future! But if i had a bitcoin now, i can create at least 3 millionaires (Naira) from it. i would at least help over a hundred thousand people directly and over millions with my product and services from the one bitcoin.
if i wait until 2020 with the bitcoin, it is posible that it will appreciate in value maybe ten times better, but it will never create the amount of value it will do now in the lives of people.
forgive me, but i must state this. we have be brainwashed to believe that 'keeping' is saving. What good is the value of a thing when it cannot transform lives at the needed time? before 2020, there coin be a more valuable coin than bitcoin, have you thought of that? there could be a better means of earning to cyptocurrency. BUT for every live you fail to change positivey, they could be the menace that could make the future blink even for someone who has the world at his feet.
we must work on the mindset that we create more by using instead of by keeping. in 2020, a bitcoin will have no value compared to the life you have touched.

Great! please share with me how would you impact the world with your steem power. if you are going to vote for every minnow or newbies until they become whales, dont forget that they have to be in the system first. how will this investment take them from their present location to this platform?
i have seen people with great mindset who has taught me to think of the next generation and not the next payout. how can your steem power influence the life of someone who may never steem in his life?

As i upvote minnows and newcomers and will also invite people and upvote them this will boost there moral
they will make some money
They will in turn Invite friends and family
The cycle goes on
There are several projects i could engage on steemit
But personally i get your point of view
The issue of impact is we are not send to impact the same group of people

It might not come
The major problem about agriculture is we want to start big
Attended funaab and one day we were asked a simple question as a young farmer how will you cope with a small capital

this is very great. i really appreciate this advise and comment. yes starting small is good because it is when you can manage 'small' that great can be giving. this is a very great thought and yes you can still use the investment on steemit to impact million lives.
gladly, it is good to see creative mindset come into steemit with a vision. do you know why i mused on what i would do if i had a bitcoin? You will be shocked as i was that many people do not have the desire for continuity but for self. ask some people what they will do if they had that amount and i am sure you will be shocked with their answers...

That is impossible to predict.Maybe there will be more users and more demand. Maybe a currency crisis will happen and bitcoins will rise in value.However, if cheap quantum computing happens it may not be worth a whole lot once supply is flooded.
I kinda agree with you. but with the value of a bitcoin now, you can chart a path for many people's lives. as someone adviced keeping it still 2020, that means it could be a pointless decision by then. Thanks for your comment
I very interestingly read some articles as to how Bitcoin can end poverty and help economy. I don't know what people are really thinking when they write this stuff. I figured I should write a post about it. That will come later.
I don't know what I will do with one bitcoin. It won't get me anywhere in America but I think your ideas are great. They are great because you are investing your money into making more money. I would suggest that to all.Dont start paying rent with your investments. Just keep reinvesting. Live within your means outside your investments.

'If you have never been poor, you will never understand what it is to bring others out of poverty and Vulnerability'. believe me some of the articles you have read about how bitcoin can end poverty and help economy must have come from the depth of a heart that has experienced so much. the reason why propagandas dont work, if because the people who will implement it as aliens to the society.
of a fact, a bitcoin will get you nowhere in America but in Nigeria as well as in many third world countries that bitcoin can change the status quo of a community. you may not really understand this, but i can put your bitcoin to use if you have one to spare. lolz.

keep reinvesting? till when? what if you only have your investment as the only means to get out of a debt or whatsoever?
I mean put your money to work for you. I can hypothetical scenarios where one has no other means but to dip in investments. But I must say that it is a very rare scenario where that has to occur. A percentage of any income can be invested.

One bitcoin could set a lot of people here up for life. Sadly it's hard to get loans to finance small scale farming. I think the government pay lip service when they tell the teeming graduates to embark in agriculture as a solution to scarcity of white-collar job. I always wondered how a graduate fresh out of school could get the set up capital when no bank, would offer loan to such an individual to start some low scale agricultural production. This your post hit home as I have some of my close friend's proposal came to nil due to lack of finance to kick off some really good project.

@greenrun, i 100% agree with you- "One bitcoin could set a lot of people here up for life". let me share with you something that happened in my local government area.
i went to the Chairman of the local government to create a project that can empower the graduates of the land and it was accepted and thrown away. the plan was to include a N350,000 loan to every graduate willing to go into agriculture or any small business; one at a time per ward and we have 11 wards. but i was told that there was no money for them to use on the project
have you noticed, the youths have been neglected to the fact that they are forced to earn a living and many people take the wrong turn. banks will never help you, the system will never help you and they always without fail stretch you to spend what you dont have. the system is tryin to empower the youth to be wrong and do wrong, forgetting that the future lies await for the youths.
i wish sometimes that the system will be more accepting of the leaders of tomorrow. i wish sometimes that the youths will not have to re-sacrifice what the patriots of this nation have sacrificed before. this comment resonants with me, i have being there and i know how it feel, first hand.
