Mirrors Edge Review

Hi guys and welcome to another beautiful day,

Today will be looking at somewhat of a not so new but interesting game, many probably played it and others not so much, its genre not that common when compared to action or adventure genre but I do think it falls under the adventure genre as well, but then I will leave that for you to decided.

If you played racing game before now, be it on mobile device or PC, there is usually this fun attached to the game, you somewhat feel invincible and sometimes a mortal can be killed by anything, the thrill you get at every corner and those sweet, complex and hard turns.

Well the experience is sometime mutual and other times not so much, well most users rather prefer all out shooting game, but sometimes I do prefer racing game, not talking about games like Asphalt, Burnout and what have you, but rather games like Temple run, and many others.

Today, will be looking at the not so popular but interesting game Mirrors Edge.

Like I earlier said, the game been around for quite a time now and probably not old or not so new to many gamers out there.

Remembered the first time I played, like seriously what is mirrors edge? And who gives a game that name?

The game was really fun while I had it installed but just like many games, I didn’t finish it as well, reason I can’t remember, looking back the only game I actually finished and still have good memories about is none other than Call of Duty modern warfare 3, lol yet to see a gamer not a fan of COD.

Mirrors Edge is an adventure, first person action game that was announced 2017, yea that long. Although, it took a little more time to be released for PC which was probably 2 years later, having said that, it was among those games that didn’t get much notification from the public, I doubt 50% of gamers actually tried this game, due to the fact it wasn’t co-op or multiplayer, rather it was a single player game that had no special or the gamer using any instrument or equip ability.

It is center on you been a runner, yea like who likes running all day?

The game takes place in a futuristic environment with you Faitha runner who transfers message from one location to another, yea what happened to the use of telephones or other special telecommunication device after all it’s the future, well you got to ask them, but my guess is,

They were been controlled by the government and such messages will be interrupted and track within seconds, the only way you could forward such messages was via runners including yourself.

You advance into the city, trying to avoid surveillance by all means while been fast and careful, the road/path you usually come in contact with, not your usual way as they involve you learning new trick very often to better your chances of evading and delivery the message.

Most games you would consider adventure and running game would probably come in a third person perspective with you getting a better view of your surroundings, well that’s not or was not mirrors edge, like mentioned before now, the game actually in first person mode and you get to experience the event like it was actually you running, able to view left, right and forward but unable to view your surrounds from afar due to short view.

The surrounding usually becomes hard when playing in first person mode as it requires you been extra careful to avoid obstacles and the game usually centers on you faith running on roof tops, evading obstacles and moving on sliders, we all probably played game that had one or most of this but most or all of them were in third person mode making it somewhat easy but then how would it feel if you couldn’t predict what came next and your sight of vision is currently the activity you engaged in.

That’s what mirrors edge brings and many more.

As you progress, you start gaining more understanding of the game and try to understand more what is needed without actually thinking or putting much effort, like building located far from you, requires you gaining more momentum to make that lift/jump or when you try to jump across the walls, the position your camera is determines a lot.

Camera movement, if you not too god with this, there is every possibility the game will surely become bored to you before you know it, not your regular 2D games, where you only have to worry about your front vision, with mirrors edge, when making jumps or movement, you have to position your game camera in a position you able to see what is in front of you and how best to tackle the movement.

If you played games were the camera position determines if your target will be hit or not then mirrors edge is definitely for you, like movement that requires you jumping from walls to the other, your camera position comes helpful there, somewhat like The ground is lava, wondered if I got the game name currently, the game involves you been in a school environment and everything around you is been resting on top a lava and you have to jump from one obstacle to the other taking not of the things around you.

The game is still in first person perspective and somewhat similar to mirrors edge but instead of running, you will be jumping.

Mirrors edge, is currently available for PC and consoles and its really a fun game to try, that’s if you love first person game, seen a lot of players who prefer more of third person shooter or player games and anything FPS is usually a no no, but then am pretty sure you probably going to find this game really good.
