Mojave desert oddities continue to baffle me. Here is a pool of water I came upon while hiking along a dirt road today. The water seems to have been left by the Spring rain but the spiral pattern carved into the earth did not seem natural at all. Maybe it was created by an earth works artist or for some unknown desert utility although once again there was no sign of life for miles around.
Is it art or utility... or something else?
I photographed the spiral with my iPhone 6S Plus.

Interesting otage, I'd say it is man made as I have no idea what else would cause an almost perfectly circular carving on the ground.
It's odd cause you can see on the further end of the picture that similar situations are beginning or look like they are forming down there.
Maybe the sand is laying on rocks that already have circular/spiral shape.

My mind goes through many speculative ideas as well as fascinating ... the most I can think of is ET playing in the sand! ... haha

Because of the proximity of the road, I also think it's some motorcyclist. Artist obviously because I did a good job! ..

That is rather bizarre! A whirlpool? I spent a bit of time in the Mojave some years back, and still treasure all the photos I took there.

Is the mojave desert easily accessible?
It feels like it over here! Yes The Mojave is large and spans California Nevada and Arizona. It is easily accessible from Las Vegas or LA within s couple of hours driving. There are smaller airports closer but probably not worth the extra expense.
I wish I realised how close it was to LA when I was there. It looks like an interesting place to visit. 😊
