The tests of Abraham.
the seven apparitions of God to Abraham, five of which we have already considered. We will see that in his life there were certain failures although there were also successes. In effect, God subjected him to seven tests:
(1) God called Abraham when he was in Ur of the Chaldeans, his native land, and Abraham responded partially to that call. His faith was weak and imperfect but, at least, he undertook the journey. He and his family arrived safely in the land of Canaan, where God blessed him.
(2) There was a period of famine in the land of Canaan and, consequently, Abraham fled to Egypt. There he accumulated wealth by introducing Hagar into his house, and both circumstances constituted obstacles in his life.
(3) Abraham received riches, which were really a test for him, as they are for anyone. However, he did not forget God and was certainly generous with his nephew Lot. But his riches caused his separation from Lot, and God appeared to him again.

(4) Abraham received power and influence, for having defeated the kings of the east. This situation was a real test because he became a conqueror. That character named Melchizedek met him and that experience strengthened Abraham to face the test; because he rejected the spoils of that war. After this, God appeared to the patriarch and encouraged him.
(5) God delayed the fulfillment of the promise to give him a son through Sarah, his wife. And Abraham became impatient. Through the suggestion of Sarah he took the matter into his own hands, departing from God's plan and will. As a result, the birth of Ishmael finally occurred. Thus, the Arabs of the desert still harass the people of Israel, and they will continue to do so until God, who controls history, leads it to its culmination.
The final two tests of Abraham would take place later. The sixth, in the destruction of Sodom and Gomorrah, in chapter 18, and the seventh in the offering of his son Isaac, in chapter 22.

Excellent message, preacher Oswaldo! It is understandable why Abraham was called friend of God, he passed these 7 great tests, without counting all the setbacks he had. How is the city of carupano haha?
