EAT YOUR PALMS BITTEN
A while back, I stumbles upon a rather intriguing creation story from the perspective of a Native American tribe known as the Comanche while I watched an AMC Original Series titled The Son. It was the first time I had heard it and yet I did learn a very valuable lesson from this story. So, I have decided to share this short lesson with my Steemian friends today in the hope that you may learn something too.
According to the narrator, the gods created the first man using dust from the four directions (North, South, East and West). When the first man was created onto the earth, he was lonely, lost and overwhelmed by the vastness and strangeness of the planet. So he wandered the earth for days in his attempt to find meaning to his very existence. Soon, he became very hungry and begun seeking for food. Lucky for him, he stumbled across a palm tree whose fruits where ripe, plump and red. Seeing those beautiful fruits, he walked up to the palm tree and reached for a bunch of palm fruits, and there was a coyote sitting on the tree saying:
"if you touch those palm fruits, I am going to bite you".
So this man withdrew his hand but kept standing there for a while contemplating what to do. Sooner, the hunger became severe and he once again reached for the fruits and there was the coyote repeating his words:
"if you touch those palm fruits, I am going to bite you".
So this continues for a while and finally, the man had to make a decision. Do you know what he did? He reach for a palm branch and shook down as many palm fruits as possible. And true to his word, the coyote did bite him, but hey, he had enough food to survive till he could find an alternative food source.
The lesson here is quite simple, eat your palms my friend, sometimes, it's better to eat your palms bitten than to starve to death. In life, everything we do comes with some risk. Sometimes we tend to dwell on the risk so much that we lose focus of the greater good. Of course other times too the risk turns out to over weigh the benefits. That's why is important to take well examined and properly calculated risks.

Thanks For Stopping By.

He could have just shaken the palm trees at its middle. Anyway lesson well learnt, take calculated instead of avoiding any risky opportunity.
Lol, I suppose the tree was too big to shake at the middle. Anyways, thanks for passing by.
