How to Sleep on the Plane

in #sleep7 years ago

How to sleep on the plane? We would love to have a magic solution for this problem because of noise, small space, nerves, stress, and excitement to come, sleeping on the plane is often very difficult. We bring no magic solutions but a series of tips and recommendations that will help you to rest much better during a flight.

First, never choose the seats in the back row. They don't lean back and that makes it harder to be comfortable. It is, therefore, more difficult to sleep.

Neck padding

We are convinced that it is not sufficiently valued. (Pardon us, neck cushion, we love you!) There are many types and goes in tastes, but inflatables are good because they take up zero space in hand luggage.
Music to relax. Listening to something quiet will help us calm down and lower our anxiety.

Headphones

They're useful even when we're not listening to music. They help to cancel noises because even if they are all sleeping and in silence, there is always some noise on the plane.
Earplugs
They are very easy to get, they sell them in newsstands and pharmacies (even on the plane sometimes you get them).
Mask/anti-face mask for the eyes
Simply because the light is always an obstacle to sleep. At first many refuse but there is a before and after of this. Lose the fear of ridicule. Comfort above all else.

A book

It doesn't have the brightness and light of tablet or cell, and it relaxes and tires your eyes until you feel like sleeping.

These are the basic things, which many despise but serve and MUCH! Try it and then tell us.
That's not all, we have some extra advice:

Wear something to support the feet, such as carry on. The posture of having your knees a little higher helps very much.
Choose the seat taking into account which side you sleep on, whether a little inclined to the left or right. Based on that you choose the left or right side of the plane and corridor or window.
Comfortable clothes
It seems obvious, peek-a-boo. And if you need to travel in formal attire, it's not superfluous to take something that serves as pajamas in your handbag.
If you're having a hard time sleeping, it's important to avoid drinking coffee or tea.
Try to arrive tired at the time of flight and avoid taking previous naps if possible. If you're super rested, it's gonna cost you more to sleep.

Sleeping pill

It is always necessary to have it as a last option but it is not bad, just have to take into account some things:
Obviously, they must have the consent of a doctor.
Try the pill a week earlier at home to see how it works and how long it takes to work. This varies from person to person, so it's good to try it first. Don't try a sleeping pill on a plane for the first time.
Take it when you are ready to fall asleep, don't do it while getting on the plane. When they say,"I want to go to sleep," that's the time.

Here are our tips and recommendations for getting better sleep on the plane. What advice do you have? What things did they try and work for them? Which ones don't?
