The Steem Multiple Persona Conundrum - Part 2

in #conundrum10 years ago (edited)

Hey Steemers!

This is a continuation for The Steem Multiple Persona Conundrum - Part 1.

I'm eager to discuss our sociologically dive further and also looking forward to addressing various comments brought up in the first part of the series. I can tell this topic is definitely resonating with a lot of steemers and that's a great thing - As stated in part 1 of this series - we are all multi-dimensional human beings.

Let's get started and discuss more how you can deal with the steem persona conundrum effectively.

Who am I today?

Which persona in the photo are you today? Most likely going to change tomorrow? This is precisely the thesis in a nutshell and the conundrum many steemers are dealing with daily.

Should I have seperate steem accounts?
Should I just post all different content and keep the single account?

Spending a bit of time looking at prior steem posts this topic has been brought up a good deal - As it stands now it's a bit of an open ended question with no current definitive answer. What should you do. Let's break down the assess the various options.

Should you create separate accounts? Separate accounts are already being utilized by a lot of steemit users.

Let's look at a few examples:

  • @cryptoiskey blogs on @steemdrive - A billboard campaign initiative for steem outreach
  • @cass blogs on @streemian - a great project that's focusing on cross posting for different social networks

These steemers have created dedicated channels for their steem related projects and initiatives. Branding and follower engagement can now be funneled for these individual products/initiatives. What about if your not necessarily building a steem focused product or steem marketing campaign, but rather just have different topics in mind? Let's take one more step and look at the issue from a personal blogging level.

So Many Great Topics

Most steem users are most likely writing amazing content in vast arrays of interesting topics. Since first starting on steem I've seen the diversity in content continually increase. This has been a great job by our larger account holders @berniesanders for example - who in turn are curating a wide range of content for our optimal success.

Creating multiple accounts for your different personas is not required. If you study some of the steem's top writing/authors you'll notice they are actually quite diverse in their content. With that said - If you can find the ability to stay with certain "themes" you select, it will ultimately provide clarity and allow your followers to engage with you best.

Thanks for reading this series..More soon!

Thanks for the mention..I think,lol.....I see what you mean, I have been battling with that for a while actually, the name I chose is really for cryptocurrency hence crypto is key ,but I want to blog about many topics so another name would actually suit what I want to do. But the problem is servicing multiple accounts can be difficult and tedious and sometimes not rewarding at all. I think once you create a good brand you can post what you want under it, I am not limiting my account to promoting steemit with campaigns but at the moment it is what I am trying to help with. For now, I will settle under the one roof. I have around 8 unfinished posts that I have started and not completed because I keep getting sidetracked with other projects, but the ideas are endless and I get a few new ones every day, it is executing them that I find the problem:) ....anyway great post:)....Followed :)

Multiple personas for different content areas? Yes, a good approach if you limit these personas on 'their' content only.

My example would be:

  • @ervin-lemark - main persona for almost everything
  • @hopefoundation - persona dedicated exclusively to H.O.P.E. charity project (nothing here yet, will post in due time)

Another issue with multiple personas, besides keeping the per account data (keys, logins, ...) is that you are spreading Steem Power and not concentrating it. Any comments here?
