The Steem Multiple Persona Conundrum - Part 1

in #life8 years ago (edited)

Hey Steemers!

This series aims to discuss and hopefully open discussion about potential persona conundrums many steemers might be experiencing. There's been tremendous technological innovation with steem and it's innovative #blockchain features - We'll be focusing on one aspect of that innovation (the blogging, reward mechanics, and it's psychological impact on our many personas). This series aims to dive into what I call "the steem persona conundrum" - A high level steem specific sociologically dive mainly at persona dynamics on the platform along with potential helpful guidance.

The Conundrum

As an author on steem you most likely at one point have asked yourself.. "What kind of blogger am I?". The actual dilemma is your most likely articulating this type of Q&A with yourself over and over. In fact this is probably something you ask yourself daily. Remain focused on creating high value for everyone and clarity can come.

It ultimately can be difficult to pick a theme for your posts.

You are a multidimensional human being.

Education, insight, guidance, support.. there's a lot to pick from. Bring the steem passion regardless of which direction you end up going. It's been said writers are good because they talk about what they know - I say bring some passion to your content and turn Chaos into magic.

The Chaos magic is in you. Direct all the various directions the neurons in your brain are firing off and commit to the ones your passionate about. Write them down. Highlight the concepts that you feel most passionate about. Commit to the list and dedicate yourself to them. Rince and repeat. How you handle complete goals in your life can be very similar how you focus on handling your Persona Conundrums.

Future posts will cover handling your personas in more details - should you have multiple accounts? Could steem benefit programmatically with personal "channel" features?

More coming soon!

Thank you for the advice

This looks really good. Dissecting the psychology of a Steemit blogger.
Will be watching...

@originate good post makes me think of when I asked the community whether it was better to have one or two separate steemit accounts when having two very different writing personas.

@scaredycatguide Yes, a great question and part of the next thought discussion. I'll talk about that in greater detail in the following post.

Look forward to it as my post got little feedback and I'm generally interested as I myself write in two very different genres under this username.

I've noticed this myself. I am relatively new to cryptocurrency and I tried to write a few crypto articles....crickets. I enjoy learning about it, but my level of passion, excitement, and knowledge isn't at a high enough level to inspire others.

When I write about things I know and love, I don't always get high rewards, but the feedback I do get is always glowing.

There is a large anarchy movement on steem. If you have no background in anarchy before joining this platform, you will likely fail to produce well received content when first starting out. If you find voluntaryism and anarchy move you and you are passionate about them, by all means pursue what you love and learn everything you can. But until your knowledge reaches your passion or your passion reaches your knowledge, you won't receive the feedback you desire.

Imagine you play a game where you name things you are knowledgable about until there is nobody in the world who is more knowledgable than you in all of those things. So for instance if I first named poker, there are better players than me. But if I say poker and fantasy basketball...now I may be the leading expert. Find what you are the leading expert at and teach the community all about it

When I write, I write on every topic that comes into my head. I don't have preference on what topic I have to post. But Im trying to consider focusing on at least 3 topics, hopefully I can acheive it.

I've been going from one thing to another since I started. Since I've never done this before that's what feels natural to me so I'll probably continuing doing that for s little while. I like to test what I like writing about and what the steemit community enjoys. Eventually something I love more than the rest will stand out and I can call myself a blogger of something specific.

Right now I'm writing some short stories to get my creative juices flowing. I'm so thankful that steemit has given me reason to do that because I haven't written anything fictional in years!!

I left you article open in the browse r to read it later. That was yesterday :)

Now I am back and am hardly waiting for the part two.

You hooked me with the idea of multiple accounts for each individual persona. Because I was playing with this notion already.

At least:

  • one account for Steemit related stuff including lamenting our destiny,
  • one account for real posts where I intentionally avoid everything Steemit.

OK, read you late. TNX!
