The current blogging platform we all love and utilize is making incredible innovation. It's incredible to be sharing our thoughts, working on steem projects, and sharing opinions while earning rewards. As a developer by trade and crypto enthusiast this became one of my initial catalysts and why I started to become so passionate for steem. The intersection and disruption in this regard is incredible to me!

If we zoom in too close to the big picture some see it like this:

Steem has great potential to disrupt a large number of existing business models.  I believe Side Chains along with Smart Contracts on the steem network will be another one of those enabler's.  I expect wonderful things.   

The Smart contracts in steem also contain a tremendous advantage element, free transaction fees.  As @dan mentioned previously in an earlier post https://steemit.com/lisk/@dan/why-lisk-is-inferior-to-ethereum

Fees alone can be very sizable in various marketplaces, payment providers and when conducting 3rd party transactions. 

In a steem powered world goods and services could be completed and defined by a steem smart contract, and naturally the steem smart contract would contain it's set rules and parameters.  Standard transactions are great for this. Micro payments are undoubtedly impacted even more with fees. The steem free transaction feature allows them to now floush in the steem smart contract.

The view can be profusely different when we observe the ocean from a different perspective, like above. 

Here we can see the Eco-system in a different light and a big picture can be seen further. 

Most importantly a small group of large stakeholders who unwittingly act to not enable and diversify the community is not a real thriving situation, that's not what's happening, and that's definitely not a winning formula. The community is acting according and providing diversity in promoted material and ultimately being effective by propelling all the fish for the great larger picture! 

Final thoughts

The big picture is tremendously larger then what we see now.
