Astronaut Alexander Gerst takes amazing photo of Aurora from Space

From above in our international space station, earlier this week astronaut Alexander Gerst took this incredible image of the Aurora.

The charged particles streaming out from our sun hitting our atmosphere cause these beautiful light shows.
