Throwback: Beastie Boys Plays Soul Train 1987 (video)

Super fun footage of Beastie Boys performing "Brass Monkey" on Soul Train in 1987. A year after the release of their iconic album "License to Ill". This record was a favorite of mine growing up.

Soul Train is both a little before my time and a little bit outside my music taste, but I love the spirit and idea of the show. And the archived footage is so cool.

Though Beastie boys had been around since '81, they didn't really start picking up major STEEM until around 1985 when they opened up a Madonna tour. Here is a bonus video of Madonna talking about the boys on late night.
