It Is Impossible To Overwrite Folders In The Same Directory.

in #utopian-io8 years ago (edited)

Expected behavior

It should be possible to overwrite a folder, as a way of merging two folders into one.

Actual behavior

When trying to paste a folder from the same directory the overwrite option becomes inactive, there by making it impossible to perform the overwrite operation in that situation

How to reproduce

  • Launch Amaze File Manager
  • Open a directory
  • Pick a select a folder and copy it or click on the three dot assigned to the folder and choose copy from the menu.
  • Now to paste, click on the icon that looks like a note pad which will appear next to the search icon.
  • On the operation window you will find that the overwrite button doesnt appear to be click-able.

  • Browser: Google Chrome
  • Operating system: Android Nougat v7.0
  • Device details: Infinix Hot4 Pro.

I have no reason to believe that this isn't the expected behavior for this application, I believe this is the case is due to the developer greying out the option during the particular flow you mentioned within this contribution.

The reason I believe that the developer added this is to show users of the application that the control to overwrite exists, but that it is disabled for the folder which they're currently in.

It's because of this I don't beleive this is a bug and therefore not a valid contrubtion to the bug-hunting category.
