Do you grow onions at home?

in #onion5 years ago (edited)

I hear one of the first vegetables people grow in Spring are onions. They have many vitamins which are welcomed after harsh winter times. My mother-in-law is growing them in jars with water. I love to see them grow a little bit each day and when the time comes to decorate breakfast omelet or fried eggs with them.

I think we will be growing them soon in our place too.

Nice way to grow onions. In my house I use the same process to grow potatos.

Oh, yes, we practice it even in kindergartens and schools in science classes. I have already cut my bow, I must plant it again

No i don't grow onion at home but, I think i also try this very soon. Nice garden.

Great..Good gardening. Actually onion contains many vitamins, which are good yields of onion during winter.

There was a time we were growing it but due to low output yield compare to what is needed. We prefer to buy it

Wow, I have never seen anyone grow an onion like this before. How do you water the roots? How often? They look like they are stuck.

Well, this is the first time I saw such a photography. Nice plant source.

I only ever grew them in my garden. Your method is interesting :) Do you string them up like the French?

No, just put the in a jar with water. And maybe cut off the top a bit so that they would have more space to grow.
