The Wrong Move

in HeartChurch4 years ago

Hello beautiful people. Moving on with our lesson, Sarai who is said to be Abram's wife couldn't bare him children and then she wondered what she could do to make her husband have at least one child. Remember God had already promised them they will give birth but you know, a human will always be a human.

And so Sarai had an handmaid, an Egyptian named Hagar and Sarai thought she could make them meet so as to have children and so she said unto Abram to please have something to do and lay with her maid. Well we do not know if Abram declined at first or not, but it was recorded in verse 2 of chapter 16 that Abram listened to Sarai and did what she asked him to, I'm sure that must havr been after much pestering.

Well he did it and Hagar the maid conceived. Now what do you think happened? When Sarai realized sge was pregnant, Saria hated her with passion. Imagine that, well that was bound to happen even though she orchestrated everything.

16:5-6 And Sarai said unto Abram, My wrong be upon thee: I have given my maid into thy bosom; and when she saw that she had conceived, I was despised in her eyes: the LORD judge between me and thee. But Abram said unto Sarai, Behold, thy maid is in thine hand; do to her as it pleaseth thee. And when Sarai dealt hardly with her, she fled from her face.

Well I know someone will say Sarai was wicked for such act. After planning everything, she still hated and treated Hagar her maid badly even in pregnancy. Its true but she is still human and she regretted her actions badly. She was too quick to take decisikns and didn't wait for the promises of God. She must have frustrated her so much for her to have ran away. Stay tuned and we will consider what happened after then.

Thanks so much for reading...
